As a kid at scout camp, we'd tense a muscle to hold the stinger in when we catch one biting in a proper location. Yes, they eventually do pop. But it leaves a huge welt. Itches like bloody hell, too. Not recommended.

You also must exhale a lot... They are very attracted to CO2.

Cool, so next time at Blackhawk I just have to not breathe. Those mutant swamp skeets are focking lethal. Every time there I get at least one bite on my forehead that gets bigger than a quarter in diameter. It's awesome when I get two and I look like I'm growing horns.

...and yeah it's the females... they bite once, go lay eggs then go bite again which is when they can be carrying diseases if they bit something bad the first time.

pinkrider - get a Burt's Bee's bite stick, it helps soothe the itchy!

Hmm... what's the 95% deet crap?

We've tried pretty much every brand, applying it several times over a couple hours and still get eaten alive there. I can use my all natural hippy crap at home when I'm cooking outside on the grill with no issues, but BHF breeds mutant bugs that are impervious to everything. Even several thick layers of clothing. The ONLY thing that works is a super smoky campfire, which is awesome with dreadlocks... but I can live with stinking like charcoal for a week (and several washings) over being covered with welts.

Get the guy with the fog truck to stop in front of your house for 10 minutes. I think I saw the neighbor kids running through the fog for fun, no wonder they're so fucked up!

For your yard, I heard the CO2 catchers work pretty good.

Sega once made a game for dreamcast called Mosquito. You had to fly stealth around a house and suck blood from napping residents. Don't get greedy and wake them, then you went in to fight mode againts the swatter..

After-bite is the best! Right after you get a bite, you put this stuff on (it comes in a pen or in a tube) and it stops the itch. But put it on before you scratch or the alcohol in there stings a bit.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.
