Charity, anybody here....

work with underpriveleged people or a shelter. I have something to possibly donate. I don't want to chuck them in the garbage if somebody else can use them. PM me.

People take these things too seriously!

there is always good will or you can walk down the street and give it to the first homeless person you see.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

Dante: [to Randal] You never go ass-to-mouth!
Randal: [to Dante] Would you grow up!
Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

Animal shelters can always use bedding, towels and cleaning stuff. Some of them will also take other items for auction or for use in and around the shelter. Also domestic violence shelters will take most items, call the local police station and they can direct you for the shelters.

Nope, they usually have the drop-offs at the police station. Some of the shelters have stores that take donations, and the funds support the shelter. They also open their doors to the women/children that come in with nothing and let them "shop" for needed items. (clothing, shoes etc) There is one in Orland and Worth called Neat Repeats, I donate tons of clothes and household items there. Also there is a place in Midlothian called Pass It On that takes anything even furniture and they give tax forms.

I already completed my community service hours at the homeless shelter kitchen.

Funny. When I was doing construction in downtown DC, there was a regular "homeless" guy who stood on the corner with a cup. He used to bum smokes off me everyday. One day I decided to chat it up with him. Turns out he collects a pension, SS, and makes about $300 a day collecting on the streets.

Yeah, last time I gave him a smoke

there was a repot some years back that found how alot of homeless were living it LARGE. they were makeing a good fortune just begging.

remember when the reporter went undercover as a homeless dude in chicago.

Your donations are always welcome at WINGS.... Women In Need Getting Stronger. They help women and their children get back on their feet and provide them with safe housing. I do about two collections per year of clothes and shoes for them. They also take purses, bedding, etc. as they have a re-sale shop and what the people at the shelter don't need, they sell to keep funding the program. I have gathered about 5 large bags of clothes and shoes and will be dropping them off soon.

If anyone would like more info, just PM me.

Thanks!

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
