Peapod

Anyone here using Peapod for groceries? What do you think? How to do the prices compare to buying the groceries yourself?

I don't know about this area but families at Disney use them for vacation stuffs and swear they are the greatest. I don't cook on vaca so I've never used them, but they get really good reviews.

I don't ride, I cook!

There is a reason they survived the dot bomb era - They are good at what they do - You'll pay a bit more but are paying for the service of having your shit brought to your door

Good call rdrash.

I just looked into the system. Looks like after you set up a shopping list, shopping takes like 5minutes. thats kind of nice.

if they are growing that would explain their need for drivers. they are always running an ad. their drivers ddont get paid shit though...company is relying on customers to tip to compensate for shitty pay.

You get no sale prices as they pocket the difference + whatever the service charge is.

From what I can tell its no savings, about the same price as going to the store - the diff is you get it delivered. The trick though, you have to pick the cheap delivery option and be around all friggin day, otherwise its gonna cost you to get a specified time frame -- We use them at my office to stock the kitchen (yes, I get a fully stocked kitchen at work -- yay! - which is fully empty by Wednesday!)

There a chance that you might spend less than usual because, there's a lot of impulse buying going on as you walk up and down the aisles.

I been trying to get the wife to do it and I always get those $20 off your first order coupons, but we haven't yet....I think she likes going to the store and shopping too much to do it.
