Prayers Needed Please

My Fiance got a call today that her Dad was involved in some type of gas leak that exploded and resulted in burns on about 50% of his body. The problem is we are in Chicago he is in New Mexico so details are sketchy but I guess he is burned from the waist down and part of his right arm, to make matters worse he is 73 years old. Needless to say I am writing this from the road as we are enroute to New Mexico. Please keep him in your prayers.
Thanks much,
Rudy

I just talked to Rudy. Henry is making some progress. They still have him sedated but his heart rate is stable. They are going to try to get him in for surgery tonight. The doctor says they are hoping to have him off the ventilator by wed. Right now they are pumping him full of fluids and antibiotics. Please continue to pray for him. Rudy's fiancé is really close to her father so I'm sure this is tearing her apart. Keep them all in your hearts, and prayers. If you don't believe in prayer, then send them good vibes or whatever you do believe. I will update as I get info. The well wishes and prayers mean a lot to Rudy and Anita right now.

Thank You guys so much for the thoughts, Prayers, good vibes, & well wishes. Henry is stable and his heart is behaving they were able to debreed (clean) the burns on his legs and apply skin grafts, and they cleaned the burns on his arms and stomach but have not grafted them yet. They still have him sedated for pain management and on a ventilator but they are hoping that can come out possibly Wed. He is fighting so we are all glad of that & the Dr told us this is the first step we will see how things go from here. I am here to be a rock for Anita (my fiance) & thankfully back home Mandy (my BFF) is my rock. More updates when I can.
Thanks again guys,
Rudy

Keep the Prayers coming

Well I don't know if it was because I posted a positive post or what but today ended up turning rough, Henry my Fiance's Dad took a turn for the worse his heart rate keeps climbing up into the 170+ again and he goes into a-fib where his heart is "fluttering" instead of beating. They had to give him a "Cardiac Thump" to bring the rate down & they are using 2 meds to keep the rate down, but it is taking more and more meds in order for them to be effective. On a positive note they are trying to ween him off the med that is keeping him asleep so that he can wake up & they can possibly take the vent tube out. He is acting like he wants to talk, and seems to respond to us being in the room.
Please keep praying for him I thank you all once again.

Rudy

Its always difficult when the road to recovery is bumpy.

Hang tough. Being positive minded and supportive is all you can do. He sounds like a real fighter.

Prayers.

I talked to Rudy's mom tonight and Henry is the same. They have stopped the meds that were keeping him sedated. They are also weaning the pain meds down. Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts, prayers and well wishes, they mean more than you know for Rudy right now.
