Hotels.com sucks

To say that they suck big fat donkey balls is an understatement. Just thought I'd post this up in case anyone decides to book through them. Nothing like showing up in a completely sold out Indy for the GP and holding my reservation in hand while the hotel tells me it never came through. All hotels.com does is send a fax of your reservation and that's it. They never check or confirm that your reservation came through but assume it did. Their solution when I got to the hotel was asking me to pay the full rate to the hotel. Odd because I already paid them the full rate and a booking fee. Besides the fact that I called a dozen times to double check my reservation it still never made it through. Hell they didn't even have the right contact name or number for the hotel. Fortunately the hotel manager took care of everything for me, never charged me extra and worked out everything with hotels.com himself.

Good customer service there. You should give us the name of the hotel, maybe some CLSBers will want to stay there next year.

Anybody else notice how nice everybody was in Indianapolis? Everywhere I went people were really nice...started to make me sick
Seriously though, it was refreshing to me...compared to around here. Definately made my stay there even the more enjoyable.

It was the Baymont in Plainfield. Their full rate would have been $129 a night so not unreasonable to book through directly.

Expedia owns Hotels.com and their customer service has always been second rate. Sorry that you had a bad experience, Mike. At least the manager helped you out.

Next time book with Orbitz.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
