What's the Deal w/ Da Bears?!

As a devoted Bears fan, I went into this season w/ relatively low expectations. With all the questions that needed to be answered, especially offensively, I considered this a year to rebuild. I figured we would end the season around 8-8, which would not be bad given the circumstances. As we wrap up the 3rd week, the Bears are right in line w/ my expectations w/ a record of 1-2.

I have watched all the games this season. Our defense looks amazing, and special teams has been performing well. The offense needs work, but they were not as bad as I was expecting. Looking back at our last 2 losses, I can't figure out WTF is going on w/ the Bears! In both games, we were actually winning by at least 2 scores going into the bottom half of the 4th quarter. If they could figure out how to finish the 4th quarter, we would be sitting at 3-0 right now. Despite all that we are dealing with as a team, I feel that we should be better than our 1-2 record indicates. Thoughts?

Offense needs to be more aggressive when they have the lead. They're leaving their defence out on the field too much at the end of the game. That leads to the other team getting long drives which leads to their defense getting quick stops which continues the circle of losing.

What he said.

Fucking defense may as well not even leave the field in the 4th quarter. 3rd down coversions were a serious problem the whole game yesterday.

Don't be fooled, Tilman lost the game for us yesterday. Simple as that.

"Another 3 yard pass from Orton" is all I heard over the speaker yesterday. Grow some balls and actually throw the f'in ball!

That was definately the case in the Panthers game, but I thought that they were being a bit aggressive in the 3rd and 4th quarter (part of it anyway) yesterday.

That is because he was checking down way too much. I think that the Bears have taught him to take what the defense will give you and move the ball forward instead of loosing the down. Part of Orton's problem is it seems that he is giving up on his receivers too quickly and checking down to avoid the pressure. I have a hard time believing that the WR couldnt get open at all the 1st half.

Problems:

Babbich's Defense: The way he runs the defense, he hasn't trained our guys to be an endurance defense. Remember when Rivera was around? The defense would get BETTER in the 3rd and 4th quarter, because they saved their energy. Bab-bitch has the defense blow their loads in the 1st half, so they're run down to shit when we really need them late in the game.

Turner's Offense: Say what you want about our various players... Turner's still the core of the problem. Remember, HE is the dumbass calling the plays. HE is the one, for example, who won't give the ball to Forte but decides to try pulling something fancy instead of what actually WORKS! His play calling has been rotten for years, and continues to be one of the central factors to why our offense is dismal at best. He doesn't call plays to take advantage of our players' strengths... never has.

it's a combo of everything with them. Between lovie not changing gameplans to offense not taking charge to defense on field way to long and not adapting to the no huddle plays like what happened yesterday.

Griese made us look like idiots yesterday with thief gameplan. The bears still should gave picked up chad peddington cause this team needs a veteran q.b.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Bears suck, nuff said. If you want to kill a qb's career, send em to chicago to play for the bears. Nobody gets the job done better.

No QB has ever been good in chicago. Sure they might of had some good moments but never anybody that was consistantly good week after week. There is absolutely no consistancy in the bears team. One week there playing awesome and the next they need a complete overhaul.

what is the purpose of the head coach when the offense and defense cord do all the work????

...cuz they did really well with a "veteran" QB that no one else wanted last year right?

i dont know how anyone can blame orton for this loss unless you are talking about him not getting the score in OT. that game yesterday should never have gotten to OT and when till man got that dumb penalty it lost the game.

if our D had stopped the bucs even one time in the 4th quarter we would have won the game. Orton deliverd strike after strike in the 2nd half and got us a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. if the d could have held on we would have had enough points.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. ron turner is the worst play caller ever. he sucked when he was here before and he still sucks now. if we had some one like mike shanahan calling our plays we would have tons of points on the board every game.
