No. It would give Daley to much excuse to "beautify" the city even more. Which will just line the pockets of his cronies. Also, I don't think this city is ready for that type of security endeaver. Or transportation nightmare.

Hell no. If that happens get ready for the price of everything to double. Prices are gonna go up on everything, taxes will increase, roads will be so filled with traffic its not even funny. Nothing good can come from it that I can think of. I know we are probly going to get it tho. They already have started preparing for the olympics for some time now.

I sure hope not! I'll have to take 2 weeks off work.

Renovation to the tune of millions has started on Buckingham Fountain. ???
Daley wants to turn the Michael Reese campus of many buildings into the Olympic Village. Problem-the buildings are over 100 years old, not up to code & full of asbestos. The clean up company is asking 15 million dollars over the 30 million previously qouted. Daley wants to raise property taxes to fund this, but don't worry Chicago property owners, the buildings will be sold to a developer right after the Games, so you'll get you money back. BWAHAHAHAHA.

Here's a guarantee the Olympics will never come to Chicago: The Cubs & Sox will play in the world series, & there will be mass chaos in Brigeport.End of the hope.

Yes and no, but I can hope. It would be great for the city and a gas to take in some of the events.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

It's a terrible idea.

NO AND NO.

I agree w/thunderstruck.... bulletproof vests to go around... All the cops in the city cannot control the crowds that will come or the daily gunshots killing one or two as proven this past summer with the murder numbers and the city calling in the National Guard?

Not to mention the cost of EVERYTHING will go up to tourist price stretching clear out into the burbs...

Oh and the traffic! You think people don't pay attention to bikes on the road now? Wait til you add thousands of tourists that have no clue where they are going.

I guess I feel pretty strongly about this. NO and NO....

The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character
