That's terrible!!! How can you drag a motorcycle 300 feet and not know you hit something?? Drivers need to pay attention!

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

to not see him ghe had to literally be right on his back wheel at that stop. not seeing someone should be the equivalent of admittance of guilt in a situation like that.
ive had people get too close for comfort at stops as though the bike is just some random debris in the road, Ive moved up and next to other vehicles in that situation still makes me nervous even after moving

Sucks all around

RIP

If i read this correctly.... They were at a traffic light... couldn't have been moving that fast when he hit him.

Bingo, it's a truck, not a train.

Very sad story.

That is terrible! And you know what, a couple things about that scenario.....

I know I've made mention in other Threads about riding PROACTIVELY, but when it comes to Semi's I can def tell you that they have HUGE blind spots and one of them is in front especially on the old school Peterbilt types.

Now this is absolutely NO F'N EXCUSE for this guy to just pull off and run people over, but lets be honest people aren't the sharpest these days and EVERYBODY'S always in a rush, which in turn results in Temporary Brain Failure I like to reference as a "BRAINFART"

This is why riding proactively is SOOOOOOOO important. If I have a Semi behind me you better bet that I'm moving as far forward as physically possible toward the intersection and to the right or left. If the one thing I've realized it's that people don't pay attention AT ALL behind the wheel anymore and it's F*CKING DANGEROUS! Driving is more of a "GOING THRU THE MOTIONS" For many now. And if I need to be a bit aggressive at times to be SEEN so be it.

So Sad to hear about this KID, I feel for his family, and I really hope one day people start realizing how precious and PRICELESS a human life is and start taking things like driving SERIOUSLY! I understand the assessed risk involved to be a rider, but for getting ran the fuck over due to pure ignorance is where I'm STUNNED!

driver probably pulled up way to close, started watching the traffic light for the cross traffic and started to roll into the intersection when it went red. looked up when he started rolling and couldn't see the bike. just my guess. either way, R.I.P.
