That is terrible! And you know what, a couple things about that scenario.....
I know I've made mention in other Threads about riding PROACTIVELY, but when it comes to Semi's I can def tell you that they have HUGE blind spots and one of them is in front especially on the old school Peterbilt types.
Now this is absolutely NO F'N EXCUSE for this guy to just pull off and run people over, but lets be honest people aren't the sharpest these days and EVERYBODY'S always in a rush, which in turn results in Temporary Brain Failure I like to reference as a "BRAINFART"
This is why riding proactively is SOOOOOOOO important
. If I have a Semi behind me you better bet that I'm moving as far forward as physically possible toward the intersection and to the right or left. If the one thing I've realized it's that people don't pay attention AT ALL behind the wheel anymore and it's F*CKING DANGEROUS! Driving is more of a "GOING THRU THE MOTIONS" For many now. And if I need to be a bit aggressive at times to be SEEN so be it.
So Sad to hear about this KID, I feel for his family, and I really hope one day people start realizing how precious and PRICELESS a human life is and start taking things like driving SERIOUSLY! I understand the assessed risk involved to be a rider, but for getting ran the fuck over due to pure ignorance is where I'm STUNNED!
