Might I suggest military environmental work? Safe when the respublicans back military spending, safe when the democraps try to save the environment.

Seeing as the bureau is also federal (like the military), it will be interesting to see what would happen to their budget with Obama in the White House.

Local PD may be a safer bet after all

The railroad loves to hire former military. Check out UP.com and BNSF.com. PM me with any questions. It takes a while to get hired, so apply early.

If Obama pushes a pullout in Iraq too fast or cuts military budgets it may put our troops at risk. It's hard to ask these guy to continue to serve when benefits are cut and they are put at greater risk.

That's what kills me about the Republicans. They somehow have people think that they are so behind the military and the democrats are not.
Back in 2006 the senate voted on giving 430mil to help fund the VA hospitals for our wounded warriors. It seemed like a no brainier. Thankfully it passed but guess what party the handful were that voted against it.....Reps. Every no vote was from one of them. Even big bad McCain voted against it when the big "dove" Obama voted for it
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LI...n=2&vote=00098
So let us get past this Republicans love our soldiers and Democrats hate them. The Reps. are great when it comes to all the macho talk but suck when it comes to looking out for the troops.

I have noticed the exact opposite.
Dems appear to be the ones calling for better benefits, armor, and vehicles (MRAVS)

and I recall Bush and McCain calling it a waste of money... This was on tv.. in speeches by them.. Now perhaps there was some pork barrel stuff in it.. I am sure it is (politicians on both sides of the aisle seem to need some self serving motive to get behind any initiative)

That said how can you say fixing GI Bill is wasting money.. but then support KBR and Blackwater waste? Did you ever see how bad we are getting screwed by them?

I have a friend who is a Blackwater contractor. I have an idea how bad they are screwing us. Our government has a "I want it how much is it?" mentality about a lot of things. I'm not saying Obama is anti military I honestly don't know enough about his record to say. There is a pretty deeply entrenched perception amongst the military that Dems are bad Reps are good.

I love a good political debate as much as the next man but... this is about MY personal opinion of Obama (not democrats in general) and my desire not to serve for him if he becomes Commander in Chief. Nothing more, nothing less. Because of that, im considering job options and asking for suggestions.

I actually wasn't trying to create one
I was asking specifically for your reason why...
I could have done it as a PM... but... if everyone did that CLSB would die

Your reasons are your reasons... That said I had this discussion with some very close friends who are in the armed forces..... THey said the same thing... Then I said .."well right, but is he worse than the chimpy in charge now?"

I'd give you recommendations.. but in all fairness I really dont know you or what your good at.. So.. I wouldn't really be able to lend anything of use to ya

Not that I'm a fan of the current president, but off the top of my head GI Bill comes to mind. went from $56,000 to $80,000; with possibility of your spouse and/or child using it. I'd say that's significant.

That being said, I really dislike both the choices It's almost a good thing I can't vote

That new GI Bill was sponsored by the Dems, and fought by the Republicans.
and +1 on the choices.. I do not think we will ever see a candidate up there with our interests in mind... We don't pick the candidates.. We are given two choices... and in all reality.... Come on.. we all know they are both the same in the end.. The rest of it is all posturing and BS to get the masses to make asses out of themselves... THey are all in bed together in the end

Thank you and I hope not either, nonetheless, I cannot, in good faith, swear an oath to a man whom I believe intends to destroy the foundation of our country (again! my personal opinion) So hopefully our country will see through him, or he will change my mind, if neither happens, Ill be seeking new employment.
