Endings and New Beginnings.

Packing everything up....
Heading to the hospital in an hour..
To have my baby removed from the wifes tummy tum tum.
....

Everyone keeps asking me if I am nervous, scared, excited... I guess I am all of those things... but most of all... I don't think what is about to happen has really sunk in...
Really more numb, or in disbelief than anything...

I don't know if it is a boy or a girl.. SO I haven't really built up any persona around this unborn little child... It's just the bump in her belly that means we aren't able to do many fun things for a bit...

I realize that's all about to change... Life as I know it is going to be quite a bit different moving forward...

It just seems very surreal.

I hope I don't pass out.
Nobody wants to be that guy

If to personal... Oh well.. Although I know very few of you in the real world.. Seems like many on here have been a part of the last few months of festivities...

and I think I know what my next thread will be about already.

So... See you all later.
Wish me luck (the hard parts on her... all I have to do is not pass out and knock the table over)

Congrats! Babies really are great. Give him/her a big kiss from all of us here at clsb! Remember that your life changes, but it really is for the better. There are several parents here on clsb, if you need advice, to vent, or a babysitter LOL!

I don't ride, I cook!

Your role is to be supportive and a hand to crush, during the contrations!

Also its customary to buy flowers for your wife afterwards. At least that's what I was told.

Thanks everyone.
I am sure she'll be looking at this when she is in the hospital and bored (looks like 4 days)

but right now.. She is running around the house cleaning and folding and organizing...
She is a whirlwind.. I am hiding off in a corner on the laptop

Our second son came on August 25.

I agree with the not hitting you thing. All along it was kind of surreal, especially with our first. Like I was just along for the ride.

Life changed in so many ways but we were so lucky to have such low-maintenance babies that it was never an inconvenience or a split second where I wanted my old life (pre-baby) back.

Congratulations and good luck!

Been in your shoes 11 months ago.

2 words of advice.

1. STAY by her HEAD!!! the headboard is even better!

2. Dont let the baby take over your life to the point you are not yourself anymore, I see too many dads do this. in the next few months, take time for yourself to do the things you enjoy or you will loose yourself.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

I have the most overorganized wife in the world....
My old man asked us if we would like to join them on a mini family vacation to hawaii sometime soon (one of those timeshare things)

So I email Connie...
This was her reply
Quote:
Maybe we can go next winter or early 2010... So far, plans are:

Baby on Monday

Holidays

Trip to LA (Dec/Jan-ish)

Connie in school (Jan-June)

Move to new place (July-ish)?

Trip to Europe (August)

Trip to Equador (December)

Baby #2 early 2010?

Trip to Hawaii (Spring 2010-ish)

Trip to Europe (Fall 2010)

Trip to Maldives (Spring 2011)

Trip to Europe (Fall 2011)

I think that's all we can dream up for now.... Getting poorer by the second.

We all need to find second jobs to keep up with the vacations we have planned.

Back to work for me,

~Connie
So... if everything goes according to her plan (and it would have to.. she compensates for my absolute complete lack of planning)...
Hopefully we will

Good luck, hopefully this is a planned c-section and not a premature baby deal. C-sections are cool. Hope you brought a video camera.

Karma!

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
