gasbag - greatest iPhone app ever

this app is awesome. It pulls a google map of whet your at and shows the location and price at gas stations nearby.

How many times have you filled up only to drive a few blocks and see gas .10 cheaper down the road?

I used to find gas in Indy for 3.10

is that better than just opening a browser to gaspricewatch.com and putting in your current zipcode?

If you know the current zipcode. But it sounds like this used current location and gives you nearby gas stations.

I don't ride, I cook!

I have a 22 gallon tank. At a $0.10 savings I will have saved a whopping $2.22. At a $0.30 savings I will have saved $6.60. Is it really worth it? What happened to the days of $1.09 per gallon of gas?

Coupla bucks here couple there adds up.

I just like it because it makes better info available to consumers which increases competition. If everyone used it, that jackass on golf road gouging at 4.09 would eventually go out of business.

Or we could just panic like those idiots in Atlanta and horde whatever is cheap!

Srsly though, it's a good idea but think about it... if I saved $5/week I would save $260/year. If money is that tight I should not be driving. Believe me, I'm all for putting that bastard on Golf out of business (that bastard on Golf and Meachum - BP?) but not enough of us seem to be suffering enough to skip those stations in order to make a difference. I feel as if the vast majority of the people complaining of the gas prices are barely doing anything to help lower the prices. I personally always fill up at the oasis on 90 as their prices are average or below compared to the other stations between home and work.

In the meantime... shall I post some more pics of arab palaces and what not?

Phil,

You are correct about some of the money. I've seen some ferrari's and other exotics flying around here. But it is only a (small) slice of society that is getting rich. The rest are still running around poor. The guy driving the ferrari is making $, while the guy putting in the gas at $1.01/gallon (last time I filled up) is making between $400-$550 a month with mouths to feed. Other than gas, the cost of living here is comparable to the US.

I know, with the amount of money the rich spend on their own stuff over there, they have nothing left over to give to the poor.

They had an article in today's paper that had some sheik asking the international community for help in eradicating the poverty here.

Maybe they should look within?!?

Sure! Fill my gas up for every week (which I will pay for) and whatever I save you can have, how's that sound?
