Danica Patrick's Nemesis?

My daughter did her first indoor racing school today and she rocked! She loves speed and I knew once she tried it she would be hooked. Maybe I can get a shifter kart father/daughter team out of this.

I could see Abi doing that too. She loves to go fast. Problem is that she also loves to go upside down on the roller coasters, that would be problematic in carts.

Edit: holy shit, she really does look just like you!

Nothing a roll cage can't handle.

Yeah I call her Mini Me. If I didn't see her surgically removed from my wife's belly I would swear she had nothing to do with it. Poor little girl got my ears though.

She's cute. And her features will all even out as she grows. I had huge ears when I was a kid and they are normal sized now.

If you put her in a shifter cart please make sure it has some kind of roll bar OVER her head, I have seen some REALLY bad accidents in those things end up in paralysis without one.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Yeah I always wondered about that. If she wants to go further in this sport she will definitely have the safest ride made.

Thanks, and yeah I am trying to do the same thing. I am not forcing her though, she loves the speed, ever since I took her for a ride on my motorcycle. She's hooked now.

Well I just learned a lot about my sweet and innocent little girl this morning. She definitely has my genes. The first practice she went out there and was slow as hell. I was OK with it though, not wanting to be one of those freaky "live through your kid" type of dads. After the practice the racing started. I gave her a pep talk and told her to hammer down, and that the car could take turns much faster. Apparently that flipped a switch, and right when she got out of the gate she passed two people under caution, and got detained in the penalty box for a lap. When she started again, she was in front of two older boys. They passed her and then when she followed them she learned the line and passed them both back! Stuffed the last one on the last corner on the last lap perfectly. I was nearly in tears. It was awesome. Last race of the day though she got a little rough and the same kids were in front of her and she passed the first one clean but rammed the second one into the first turn and got a penalty again. Got out quick and made up some time and passed the kid back again clean for another win. She loved every minute of it. After the race I told her to go up to each racer and say "good race nice job", and the boy she kept beating was pissed. Didn't say anything to her. We saw him and his dad walking out and he was giving him the speech I had all prepared about fun and competition and results don't matter yada yada yada. We will probably be frequenting the Friday night races there now. I highly recommend that place. Not cheap, but definitely gets them familiar with racing if that is what you want. It is a very good program for the kids and they all had a ton of fun.

Thats great. I had wondered if they had anything for the younger kids. We did the endurance race with TR. First time there I sucked I have to learn patience for endurance racing as I kept trying to get everything back on one lap and either spun or got a penalty. It was great fun though would like to go back for more but it gets $$$$. Good luck to your daughter and you.

You guys might want to check out melrose park grand prix. Much cheaper, and they let you get away with alot more stuff, carts are alittle bit slower and propane powered but still hella fun. If you looking to do some wrench turning i have 2 racing carts that have sat in my dads garage untounched for 10 years.

Thanks, yeah it looks like it might suck up some money, but what form of racing doesn't?
