Kyuki-do tournament results.

Well first one I've done since I stopped going to class back in 2001. Started back up about 3-4 months ago. Completely fubared the forms comp. But from what I watched being done by the guys in my group, I dont think I did any worse. Lots of hurried moves, missing ki-yaps (yells), no chambers for blocks or strikes and missed moves. I turned the wrong way on one turn and goofed it up for 2 moves and corrected myself. I totally suck doing forms.

Free fighting. Only 3 of us in my division. Ended up with the bye for the first round. Got the winner of the first round (guy didnt think he could beat the other guy) and just pretty much whooped up on him in the first round. Really got him thinking after I got him with a jump spin hook on the side of the helmet. He got real leery about getting close even though he was a few inches taller. 3-0 at the end of the first round. Then in round 2 just did alot of blocking with a few kicks tossed in. 4-2 at the end. Ended up with a 1st place trophy. First one ever for me in martial arts. Have a 2nd place from teh first time I was in Kyuki-do and a 4th place ribbon.

Maybe next years I may do a weapons form and breaking also. But by then I'll probably be back to my old rank or test for red stripe or red by then.

Breaking is fun. Just make sure you have some good holders.

Congrats!

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!
