That was fucking crazy. I had a long board when I lived in California that had a small cable operated disc brake on the rear axle, but I never went close to that fast. I would guess about 60-70MPH.

Wow. Unbelievable. Thank goodness a car didn't pull out in front of them or anything like that. Damn that was cool to watch.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

f-ing crazy! They had to have been going 60+. I longboard a bit and the fastest I've ever gone is 40 on the oh so steep hills of IL. That was on a straight road, hardly any cars, etc. These guys are sick.

fastest i've gone was ~35 in wonderlake, but that was in a nice straight line at least, for maybe 2 miles, then back uphill to slooow down nicely.

Still feels faster than hell when you sit low and your face is only a few feet off the ground

LOL. I thought they were the Geico cavemen at first.
Awesome camera work.
And I thought I was scared of gravel on the bike, I couldn't imagine a little pebble getting stuck under one of their wheels at that speed.

true, but at least on a bike...

You have brakes (and are secured to the bike for quick stops)
and...you have brakes! (although some i guess do have brakes on them, you cannot stop as fast without bracing yourself, otherwise you'll faceplant lol)

Not to mention having to worry about wheel bite on one of those, or hitting a little stick and being thrown off, or speed wobbles...

I think longboardings waay more intense even than when I went to a track day, feels like you have a lot less control over fate

I'm not so sure that debris is as big of a deal as it's being made out to be. look at about 9:30 in the video, the camera holder cruises down a side walk then it looks like through dirt/grass and back on the street. the sidewalk wasn't smooth looking at all. lots of patches and dips.

although i wouldn't want to find out about hitting anything going as fast as they were wearing a polyester suit.
