Come over and ride our shifter cart that has a 125 motor on it. You'll see that a 600 inline 4 would be overkill. This shifter cart is faster than most cars up to a certain speed. Trust me.

yep over kill is the point...useless power is the idea here. i'm not planning on keeping the motor on the go cart, just somthing to have fun with for a month or two. wont cost much money if any at all. i do the work myself and have most all the fabrication materials already. so y not have some fun...

I don't know if you've heard of formula SAE, but it's an engineering competition to make mini forumla cars to compete against eachother. They use a 600cc motor in them, so I think it would be an awesome project - no where near overkill!

you're going to need something a bit stronger than a kart frame for a 600cc motor :P

either way, I like where you're head is at. This should be a fun project.

The SAE cars would kick way more ass if they were unrestricted 600's, somewhere around 65 horse with the restriction oriface in them

Very true, especially since they allow you to supercharge and/or turbocharge but that stupid little ring in the intake just ends up screwing up the motor if you try either forced induction. But think about how much fun we could have with carbon fiber with this project!

That looks sweet, that would be good to build and to keep the neighbors awake with. When they come looking for a bike there won't be one around.
