Sadly, yes and they generally get their idenities stolden and their bank accounts drained not to mention a bill from the irs. Its a cleaver scam thjat started a few years ago with the funds being in Africa. Anyway, ask her to send some pic's of her and make sure the ass is worth the trouble. I still have the cheque they sent me. The Skokie police said they could do nothing about it. I called the bank it was issued from and it was a legit cheque, but it was from a batch of stolen ones.

People take these things too seriously!
