The passenger/cameraman keeps calling the driver "fool." How right he is.

It did really take off like a rocket ship though that second time. I was expecting him to loop it at highway speeds.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

What's up with heating the tank with a torch? Is that normal? Looks pretty dumb to me.

people do it. Nitrous when it's released cools down the tank. People usually run heat blankets, etc. I have heard stories of people heating tanks with a torch, I don't know if I would suggest it.

I understand the concept, and heat blankets sound like a decent idea. The torch just looks uber-dangerous, like the tank can explode at any moment due to uneven heating/cooling and the flamable gas inside.

But the pressure that will build up by heating up a bottle with a blow torch may cause the canister to explode.

Heat is heat, yes it looks dangerous and hillbilly, however the tank is so thick it sinks the heat pretty evenly. As long as you have a pressure gauge on the tank no worries. I have done this before in a pinch. But yes no gauge or a stuck/improper blow down tube could result in kablamo.

My buddy took a torch to his NOS bottle all the time. I stayed far away while he was doing it. Nothing ever happened happened. Yeah, he owned a Mustang. A 10 second Mustang that would lift the fronts across an intersection.

I am amazed it didn't blow up.

Adding NOS to a motor without adding fuel to maintain the A/F ratio would
lean it out massively. No wonder he melted a plug or two. I am surprised
he didn't hole a piston or worse. Obviously he has no real clue on how
NOS works.
