Look Who's Strong!!!!!!!!!!

I want to hear all the people who refuse to say "I put my bike up for the winter." From now til spring post up if you ride and how cold it was. Let's see who will be the last rider of the season (12-31-08) and the first of next season (01-01-09). I raise my glass to all the die hards!!!!!!!

I am in - and I would have rode today too, but I have to work late tonight and I was not up for riding home @ 9 P.M. in the ice - lol, and I usually dont mind the cold because I am ready for it with lots of layers, but I think the ride with JD this past Sunday is catching up to me, I am tired now

But I will ride again this year, no doubt!

the cold doesn't bother me too bad, it's the salt that will keep me from riding once the snow starts flying.

anyone have a proven method of 'salt-proofing' your bike?

I'm in.

Installed my heated grips last night. Also strengthened my charging system via the wiring harness to help the battery out.

They got rid of motorcycle parking at my work last week...bastards. Too many "fair-weather riders" calling the shots around here.

I, too, am interested in what you guys do against salt.

same with me. aluminum and salt don't mix so well. but I typically don't go much colder than 30F for riding. dirt is a different story as you're actually doing stuff vs just sitting and holding the throttle while commuting to work.

I'd so be in on this, but I just sold my bike last week Maybe I can pick up a new toy and join in on this later.

I took my riders safety course last spring in SD and it was 15* out and once had to ride home early in the morning in the late fall with only a sweatshirt and no helmet for 8 miles on a US highway. Any got the wind chill calculation for 70 mph at 28*?? That'll be my marks, and I'm curious to see how the rest of you guys do!

I rode Chicago to Las Vegas in April of 2007. And back two weeks later. Outbound through Tulsa and OKC to Durango and then I-40 to Kingman and up to LV. Lowest Temp - 20 deg F leaving Flagstaff. Highest temp 92 deg F in the desert.
On the way back through Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and then I-80 home I rode in snow, sleet, and on slush in the Rockies. Lowest temp on that leg was only 30 deg F. Sleet is tough to ride in. It freezes on the faceshield and windscreen.

I ride till the salt is laid, then when the salt washes off the streets, I'm back out.

I use Gerbings as well. Heat FTW!

Craig

Hmm, riding on the street in the cold?! I see no great value than riding on the street in the heat. LOL! (you know I don't ride street)

So, I'll play. I'll be riding on the track every month of the year except for December. Riding in November and January already... December, well that is reserved for JetSkiing in a wetsuit for those of you that think a bike is cold at 32 degrees... that ain;t nuttin.

I'm in. Gerbing Heat ROCKS!

The only thing that stops me is either ice/salt on the roads, then I'm done. Plus, when your coffee freezes before you get to work it just kinda sucks.

Left for work at 4:30 A.M. 37 degrees. About 30 min commute. If that don't wake you up nothing will. Bike loves the cold dense air tho. Like riding a bitch on heroin.
