Comcast internet?

Anyone have any problems with Comcast Internet reliability and speed? I am upgrading today from DSL which is VERY slow for me.

Yes. Everyone. But do you have a choice? Not really. They're everywhere and the options for other high speed ISP are few and far between. Comcast is the fastest for the most part but everyone hates them with a passion.

No problems. I am currently getting butt raped since I came off of the 1 year special. So far switched the phone to Vonage and currently looking into switching TV to Direct TV.

I get consistent 8Mbps downloads.

I am most concerned with download speeds and up time. I play a lot of streaming video and music and DSL is just DOG SLOW.

Read my post. They are expensive as shit as soon as you get off their promotional rates, they charge you for everything, and their customer service is terrible.

What MM said and also if you haven't heard they are now limiting your DL's to 250 gigs i think? Or something like that so if you act like your PC is a damn server or something then you will be fined or something like that.

250 gig per month? That's a hell of a lot. It shouldn't affect me. I know it's more expensive than other options, but all I need is up time and speed for now

If you contently downloading BT, you will have good chance get suspend by them. They have people in India monitoring your bandwidth usage. other then that they are pretty reliable and yea it cost more then DSL.

I haven't had any problems with them. Cable is up and down though, depending on how many users are on. You share it with all your neighbors.

If you call comcast and ask for their retentions department they'll get you a new introductory offer.

Comcast is just down right sick fast. You get what you pay for. There expensive but the internet speed is unreal man. My household has currently 5 computers going, all connected to the 1 modem for internet. Never any slow downs, lags, its just there with no hesitation.
My sisters house has I think 7 or 8 computers now and same results there, internet is just fast. Wether your downloading or say playing cod4 online, it never really slows down at all. Heres my results with a few torrents downloading stealing bandwidth....

Must not have complained enough. I threatened switching to ATT, threatened canceling parts of service. No good, they sent me to retentions and I got no where there. I must not have bitched enough.

We dumped comcast back in 2004. We don't have their video product, and the ala carte rate was just too much.

Here's what I get nowadays.

Mind you, this is a sustained rate, not like comcast's turboboost or whatever it's called.

That's just wierd. I wasn't even pissed when I called two weeks ago.

I just said "Look. I can't afford $120 a month. It either has to come down or I have to move on."

Guy says "After fees and everything I can get it down to $89 per month for the next six months."

I said "Ok. You have a deal"

It was literally that fast, once I got to retentions anyway. Try calling late on a friday, maybe they're in a better mood or something.

That's for mid level TV and internet. I'm too cheap to pay for dvr.

yup, i did the same thing to reduce my rates with comcast. if you get someone who won't budge on the line just hang up and call again and hopefully you'll get someone different.

I used to do this every six months and even that was getting lame....so a few months back my Outlook reminder popped up, I called went through the same schpeal but added that I was sick of calling every 6 months. They made it 12 months with free HBO.
