Who wants to go karting?

Melrose Park grand prix http://www.mpgrandprix.com/

we're setting up a winter league right now. Not sure how many openings we'll have. Looking at 8 dates starting nov 5 through end of march, keeping it light through the holidays. $50/person/race. 20 min each practice/quali/race and we'll be keeping track of points to determine a winner at the end. $200 deposit up front, can pay the rest over time.

anyone seriously interested?

How does this place compare to CIDR? The website sucks, not a lot of information at all.

THanks!

typically if you just go for any arrive and drive style, even at melrose, it works out to about $100/hr. This is a league that we're doing on our own. we set everything up, we're only using the MP facility as a place to do this. CIR has their own leagues and i'm not sure how their rates work.

wednesdays at 8pm. yes, karts and gear are provided (although their helmets suck). Gear requirements are long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, full face helmet and neck pad/brace. if you wear short sleeves or shorts, they have a driving suit that you can wear instead.

track days involve you using your own vehicle and paying for all the repairs and worn out parts (brakes, tires, fuel, etc).

total is $400, only looking for an up front deposit because we need a specific amount of people to get the price we're getting and we can't have people show up if they feel like it. it has to be a commitment. so $200 up front and you can pay the other $200 as we go.

well the first date is 11/5. we'd like to know by 10/29...which gives you a few days. let me know if you are still undecided by then. we're also willing to work with you if you can't pony up the $200 up front.

And in the other thread, if you want to team up with someone else and do 4 races each, that's fine too.

it's less expensive, it's 60 mins of karting at $50/night.

the track is large--laps are in the 36 second range, give or take depending on your skill.

the track is slick--if you make a mistake, it's easier for others to capitalize.
