Foot injury. Need help/advice/whatever.

I've injured my foot, and really don't want to go to the foot doctor, just to find out only time will heal it. I did get X-rays, and those were negative, btw.

Playing indoor soccer, jumped to head the ball, came down with my foot on top of someone elses. I thought it was a cubial subluxation from the symptoms, and my girlfriend (the x ray tech), followed the doctors directions to push it back in, and really that pain (which was the worst) has subsided. But now, I have STRONG pain on the right side of my foot when walking. If I sit for a while, I can start to walk and it feels totally fine, then after about 10 steps it starts to hurt, and by 20 steps I can barely walk. Pain also goes kinda behind my ankle bone, so I'm sort of thinking its a Peroneal Tendon injury. Also, I can "feel" those tendons moving when I walk. Its hard to explain but I can feel/hear it. It's weird.

It's been about 10 days. I figure by 14 days I'll go to the doctor, but figured I'd check here first.

Anyone have any thoughts or experiences.

I did something similar early in the summer during volleyball. Took about 2 months to heal.

Go get some crutches to hobble around on
