I have an old Kitchen Aid stand mixer that seems to have power surges. It will run on low for a moment or two and then it seems to jump to high, without me touching the dial. Yes, it's old, but it's the most solid mixer on the market. I have a friend who's mother has one that's over 40 years old and still running stong. I think it's worth fixing, but don't know where to take it. Any suggestions?
Sounds like the dial may be acting up. I'd see if its easy to pop open, and then try and find a replacement knob. If that does not fix it, let a repair shop have a shot at it.
