Did anyone notice the color

of the reporters covering the election last night?

Was it just me, or were they all African American?

NESBA - Seems to be missing, can someone direct me where to find it?

I flipped through CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox the whole night watching the coverage and yes it was just you.

Wow, this and your comment on Tony's congratulations to Obama thread. You are really swinging for the fence.

I did notice that at the McCain Rally there were only only white folk and most of them AARP members...

By contrast... (no pun intended)

Grant Park had quite the cross-section of the entire population.

Probably why he won.

I would expect that African Americans are probably extra proud of this
accomplishment and what it signifies. Only 50 Years ago they had to
ride on the back of the bus and use separate washrooms.

To make that journey as a counrty and as a culture is a remarkable thing.

Hopefully someday soon we will all look at the reporters on TV and just
see the reporter on TV rather than their age, sex, color or religion.

I hate to say it but I think we are still a long way away from that.....maybe the next generation.....the result of this election will either help with this process or bring more negativity to it.....we will know withi a year or 2

The trouble is that bigotry exists in every race and there are as many
bigoted-blacks as there are bigoted-whites.

In some bigoted minds, this just establishes a new world order and a
new superiority ......rather than erasing old bigotry, establishing a new one.

Let us hope that open-mindedness will prevail over time.

We can only hope.

I didn't vote for him. Think what you will, but the truth of the matter is that the only time I noticed he was black was when I was reminded of it by the media. My issues with him had nothing to do with his race.

I can also appreciate, looking back now, how historic this years election campaign has been. We should all appreciate that we were here to witness the event.

But I can pretty safely say that this person has pretty unrealistic expectations

There's going to be some sobering up after January.

Interesting result last night. Some people finally looked past skin color. Unfortunately, many instead substituted another discrimination card of age. They repeated several times on the news how age hurt McCain. I understand the real implications of him being older, the possibility that he could fall ill, etc. But Obama could just as easily be killed in an aircraft accident, rare disease or something else. It is a little sad to me that some thought wisdom/age/experience as a bad thing in general terms. I heard some comment at work that he looked stiff on stage and made them think he was too old to do the job. I had to remind them he was imprisoned with a broken leg and two broken arms at one point, it could be a result of those injuries. Just because the body starts to wear does not always imply the mind is any less sharp.

Picking a dingbat as #2 didn't help either...
If he picked Ron Paul as #2 he'd have picked up way more voters.
Ron Paul actually had grassroots supporters...
Nobody in America ever heard of her before... and she really didn't seem qualified to leave.. with him having a 33% or greater chance of not surviving 4 years... I imagine that scared some people... Seemed to scare a lot of people in his party (i dont mean supporters.. I mean actual party leadership)

That's all well and good but being older does make him more likely to die. Then you get to thinking about what happens if he does. Sarah Palin. Runs the Country.

Yup, I had no real issue with his age, and was still undecided - until he picked her.
