great way to start the day.

Riding to work this morning, about 3 miles into my 28 mile commute I flip on the high beam in an open stretch. I see a car coming, flip the switch, no more low beam... There is nothing better at 5am than having every driver blind you with his high beams.

I'm stopping during the day to pick up a new bulb. I'm thinking of getting a Silverstar H4 . Any suggestions?

Silverstars are sweet. There is also a good/comparable phillips bulb, but I forgot what it's called.

If you can find the Osram (German) made Silverstars, they are not coated blue so you get more output.

For some reason, Americans like blue lights, and the companies are happy to oblige with the blue coating, even if it doesn't make sense or help you see.

at one time I considered disconnecting the high beam for just that reason. I'm glad I didn't. I've seen a euro headlight switch with an off position.

my high beams are on almost at all times riding my bike. Duck the ones oncoming if they get a Lil blinded. At least I know they see me and won't be coming into my lane or making a turn in front of me

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Autozones carry the Silverstar H4. Phone first to check inventory. Also grab a tube of electric connector lube, its supposed to help seal out moisture.

I do not regret upgrading to them one bit.
