Do you believe in hypnotists?

I do.

I can't say I believe what they do is real, but lemme tell you that there are people who think they can hypnotize you.

From what I understand, some people can't be hypnotized. I've had a couple "experts" try to hypnotize me, and were not able. IMHO, they would need to have a will power greater than the person they are trying to hypnotize to make it happen.

That said, I do believe in self hypnotization (I probably totally spelled that wrong...if it's even a word). I've seen people slow breathing to crazy low levels, and block pain etc. I can do it to some extent, but not like I've seen other people do...I learned it by accident when I was young and had a lot of breathing problems (allergies, exercise induced asthma). Instead of panicking when I couldn't breath I'd focus and slow everything down to where what little breath I could get was enough till the event passed or I got help. I had no idea what I was doing till it was pointed out to me the control I had gained.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

You got a golden shower from a hooker?

I came here to drink some beer and kick some ass. And it looks like we are all out of beer.

When I was in school I worked in a nightclub that had a Hypnotist act...it was fake. The same people would show up week after week night after night and be hypnotiized. However...My brother is an MD and his Daughter, my niece, is in her residency as a psychologist, they tell me that hypnotism is a valuble tool in therapy, but not everyone can be successfully hypnotised by every practitioner. We recently had a discussion about the power of suggestion, and they both claim that it is very real and if applied properly to a receptive subject, it's amazing what you can get people to do...BUT...you can't get people to something against their will, or that they wouldn't normally do. I don't have the education or experience they have, but they've never steered me wrong when we've discussed such things.

oh boy I just yawned so tired. okay who else yawned

i find the hypnotizing to find out if you previously lived interesting. Or do people that are hypnotized to have photographic memory. the guy that robbed the bank had a yellow hat on that had a green stain with a stripped shirt. a freckle on his left cheek.
