355 North closed?

WTF? I just sat on 355 northbound forever just before 88. I dont know whats going, but theres cops everywhere and I swear there was a body laying under a bridge in the center lane of 355? Cops on the overpass, under the overpass, etc...

Anyone know whats going on?

That's really what it looked like. No ambulances were even there yet. had a tarp laying over something "body sized" in the center lane of 355. All traffic was being routed to the right shoulder.

Kinda what I thought, as there was a tractor trailer pulled over just past the overpass. The person was laying directly under the overpass ledge though. If they got hit, then you would figure their body would be laying further away.

Why is there a person in the middle of the road in the first place is my question.

It looked like a jumper from the Maple St. overpass. Hopefully, it wasn't a construction worker though.

Glad I don't have to go that way. But on a side note, people who commit suicide are cowards and I feel more sorry for the people left behind who are hurt by the selfish actions of someone else.

That and...if you are going to commit suicide, at least be considerate. I swear after doing my job I want to write a book on suicidal etiquette. Don't make it messy....noone wants to clean up your freaken mess and at least give your family an open casket view. Also, don't screw up everyone else's day...dont jump off a bridge and cause traffic or go in front of a train and delay people getting to and from work and don;t it where people are going to witness you off yourself and then be distraught by the view of it. I could go on but gotta run to court now...

Jen, if you stopped speeding and running red lights you wouldn't have to go to traffic court.

Suicide is one of those things that people change their feelings on when it hits home.

Hope you never have to deal with it.

Growing up I knew a guy who actually did this and survived.

First attempt

Jumped off overpass, splattered across windshield of cabover semi..
Survived - Off to Psych - out in a month or so.. maybe longer.. Not very long

Second attempt - matter of weeks after initial psych ward release
120+mph... flipped car over dozen times. landed upside down in a ditch, water woke him up.. survived.. back to psych.

3rd time -(charm) - again within weeks of release
Fathers service revolver, in his bedroom under the chin. Discovered by his mother.. Who was never the same (i know.. obviously.. but point should be made)
