Hit and Run

Something always happens to me the week of my birthday. And people wonder why I take this week off and hide at home all week...

Scion is crunched again.

Some (Assuming Drunk) woman rear ended me and then took off. I followed her to get her plates while Brianne dialed 911 and relayed the information to the 911 dispatcher.

The crazy woman finally pulled over after realizing she ran herself into a dead end parking lot. I tried to get her to give up the keys while she begged me not to call the cops saying she was going to jail and she has children etc.

She backed up the car and took off again, hitting *me* as she left. I got knocked on my ass pretty hard but avoided smacking my head on the ground. I'm sore as hell, but OK. The Scion is crunched in the back.

Downers Grove PD that responded was rude and apparently wanted to be somewhere else. She would ask me a question and then cut me off before I answered, and when I said the woman knocked me over with her car it took three times before it clicked with her what I said. I guess she had someplace to be because she was rushing through getting the info, never asked if I was OK (though I was wet and dirty from hitting pavement), never looked at the car, and never let me finish telling her everything that happened. I'm still waiting for her to call me back with report info and I'm going to make sure I get her name...not sure if I should bother talking to her superior though.

So yeah, another fun birthday week for me.

I would say she "hit and run" twice plus, battery with a vehicle (whatever its called)

make sure something gets done. da biotch needs to go to jail.
All that is on record with my second 911 call. I made sure to mention a few times that the woman fled twice and hit Eric with her car.

Unless you're secretly a bounty hunter or can get me her info...nothing anyone can really do except hope the police pull through. I really doubt she has insurance...I'm betting she doesn't even have a license. I'll probably be paying for this damage out of pocket since my deductable is moderate and the damage isn't terrible.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune.

In the future, if you were to carry some pieces of ceramic with you in your pockets to 'tag' such a vehicle with an easy to identify characteristic... that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

if you have uninsured motorist, there's no deductible, once they prove she has no insurance.

That truely sucks!!!! I really hope you 2 get some justice out of this and don't get royally screwed!

Eric, Talk with your insurance and make sure you are specific.... Maybe your insurance will cover half or all of your deductible. I know my dad's covered half because the other uninsured driver was at fault. Stay on them and I hope your luck changes.

Just remember, better the Scion then one of you (or both) on the SVs.

Don't even go there. It's my worst fear that Brie gets clipped while on the SV. Especially after last year where some hick tried to bump her off because he didn't like "Jap Crap Bikes" and with all the accidents that happened this year to people we know.

Anywho, Advil and bedtime. Lets see what tomorrow brings.

PRESS THIS HARD!!! This woman is the type that ends up killing someone..she NEEDS to go to jail! As long as you have the license number and can positively identify her it should be no problem to get her arrested and convicted.
Glad you're OK.

Bree can take care of herself, bro. You know she is a safe rider and that she knows the risk. ENJOY the ride together. There is NOTHING more electric then running a set of corners or looking in the mirror and seeing your S.O. in the mirror. It's something you both love, so let some of the fear go. Having gone through it, it is hard, but when accept that it is something you both love, there is NO better feeling then riding with someone you love, regardless of the risks. Trust me.

dude...glad your ok man...pursue it with her supervisior...also, if the cop shop decides not to do anything, then contact a lawyer and see what you can do about getting the tape recording and pursue a lawsuit against those fucks...

since you have the plate, you can also contact the dupage county states attourney and have then pursue this also if need be...u can also hire a P.I. for a little cash and have them track the car down and owner and get that working for u also...

but glad you are ok bro...thats the important point...

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

If it has a disable veterans plate then the tags got to be real you have to apply for that sh*t through the state and then prove docs, and on the plus side if its not real and they find her then she's just commited another crime that she will be arrested for.. as far as that cop goes shes a shame to any police force, wheather she ahd somewhere to be or not she shouldnt be rushing and cutting you off if you have talked to her supperior talk to them

I'm guessing that it wasn't her car...it's probably a husband or boyfriend or even a sons car (though she looked to young to have a son to have served)

She was dressed as if she just left a party or cocktail night, even had a lay around her neck (not sure if that's the correct spelling for it). She didn't sound or smell drunk, but she was certainly loopy on *something*. I'm guessing a pill popper of some sort.

arrested and put in Jail.

The Officer needs an attitude adjustment as well.

Tom
I wasn't sure if calling the officers sup was a good idea. I don't like causing any extra problems, and I guess I'm counting on her to follow up on the report and everything...so if I bust her with her boss, how much help am I going to get really? I was hoping a LEO on the board might chime in on this, even in PM.

I just got up a few minutes ago...LEO still hasn't called, and I'm sore, but I'll survive. Brie is a wreck...seeing me get hit and thrown (I guess it looked worse to Brie watching than it did to me doing the flying) scared the fuck out of her...so she didn't sleep at all last night.

Overall, the damage isn't bad...I still have to make sure I can open up the rear hatch on the xB, but she's driveable and I'm no more than sore. So from here it's all about making sure this crazy bitch gets locked up and possibly a LEO gets her attitude straightened out.

Thanks for letting me vent on the forums.

Well sh*t Eric I'm really sorry to hear about this. I hate to see this type of stuff happen to people. I'm angry at that b*tch just reading this. I hope everything works out.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
