come out and go snowmobiling, its like riding a motorcycle except colder, and no clutch and no speed limits to deal with. and last but not least, drinking while not be encouraged, isn't frowned upon.

It was a pleasure to have gone thru a set of tires on the wonderful stretch of road

I just remember getting back to the house late in the afternoon. I think it was the last night. It was still some daylight left. Tom asked if I wanted to go, "knock out a quick 100 miles on the BRP?"

We left to head out with zero hesitation. 100 miles is nothing more than a quick blast on the Blue Ridge.

God that was fun even at my pokey pace. I love that road

That was the day my treads where showing 20 miles for the crib - You and Tom took off, Stew and Justin did a bike swap - I stayed, smoked cigs and tossed it to the thought of the week past on 2 wheels

So who wants to ride with me early next season to the top of the skyline drive, head south 110 miles, merge into the 469 miles of the of the BRP for a total of 579 miles of road with no stop signs, stop lights, billboards or commerical vehicles, run around the bottom of the smokies park, hit the gap and head home?

No trailers, stay in motels and we can do it all in 5 days. Monday through Friday.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

Sounds like a slice of heaven! If I can get the time off, let's roll!

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

That would be bad-ass. I think there is a section or two of BRP that was washed out a couple years ago, so you might have to deal with some stop signs and stop lights due to detours. But, it still sounds good....

Unless a new one occurs, I think the only one is between Mt. Mitchell and Asheville. Rt. 80 provides an outstanding detour which I would highly recommend even if there wasn't a closure.

I would think you would be ok. I dislocated mine 3 weeks before we left for NC. I took a lot of Asprin on the trip but the pain was never unbearable

Haha, that is the exact same trip my father and grandfather has been taking almost every year for the past 15 years (minus deals gap)! And I have done it every year for the last 3 years! I ask my dad if he ever gets tired of it and wants to ride somewhere else. But he says it is so long it always feels fresh and the scenery is always a little different. Its a fantastic week trip, I especially love stopping at different things each year. One year we hike waterfall x. The next year we try waterfall y. There are so many attractions along the way, I dont know if I can ever see them all. After so long, you forget the first ones you saw and its fun to see them again!

I miss it too now that it is so cold and gloomy
