It's Friday, work sucks ...why am I not a Pirate?

Seriously, whos with me? We can get some eye patches and parrots or pigeons or whatever ..I dont care. I'm just trying to figure out why my comfortable existence depends on me sitting in a cubicle all week, while being a pirate is still an available and apparently legitimate job??

People are paying pirates millions of dollars in 2008?!?!?!?! ...Thousands of years of evolution, technology, new jobs, satellite capability and missiles, and pirates can still make an honest living??? Nobody can do anything about it? Sign me up. ...matey. arrrrrrrrr

Dude, it's 2008, we have hybrid cars and special European oil that's $1 more than reggy synth oil for gawd sake. There are no pirates, racism is no longer in existence, and Geico doesn't save you jack. Stop dreaming.

This shit sounds right up our alley!!

Summary quotes:

Quote:
Once a pirate makes his fortune, he tends to take on a second and third wife - often very young women from poor nomadic clans, who are renowned for their beauty.
Quote:
Most vessels captured in the busy shipping lanes of the Gulf of Aden fetch on average a ransom of $2m.
Quote:
They wed the most beautiful girls; they are building big houses; they have new cars; new guns," he says.

"Piracy in many ways is socially acceptable. They have become fashionable.
Quote:
It has been reported in the past that wealthy businessmen in Dubai were financing the pirates.

But the BBC's Somali Service says these days it is the businessmen asking the pirates for loans.
