Storm vs. iPhone

I went and tried the Storm tonight. No training, no demo.
I tried the iPhone when it first came out. No training, no demo.

All I can say is the Storm is NO iPhone. The iPhone is easy to use, easy to figure out, and is intuitive. The Storm.... not even close.

I actually went to pick one up, and to buy it. Guess what, it may be a better phone than the iPhone, but it is NOT a good replacement for an iPhone.

Just my humble opinion for what little it is worth.

I still want one

And it is nice to be able to carry an extra battery with you if you're using it a lot. And not having to worry about smashing/dropping in toilet/letting fly out of pocket on ride

I like insurance on stuff, I abuse my crap lol

....

Although I have tried neither as of yet

Indirect agents not getting working demo-phones=teh suck

PS, is it wrong to bash on a company you work for, as long as they don't know you do it??

Store I work in gets so little business I doubt I could hurt their loss LOL. Just too hard to get to, and competing with a corp. store that is WAY more visible is impossible.

Yes, our company is standardized on them so that and we use BES.

I like the Curve and the Bold (other than the browser).

I still use a Palm 755p. I tend to try to use new solutions in wireless since a lot of my business is directly related to mobile tools. I had an iPhone (gave it to my daughter since it didn't work with Exchange back then), a Curve, a WinMo (Samsung) and this new Palm. I have been anxiously awaiting the Storm, and I would have assumed that after this long of having the iPhone on the market, BB would have done a better job. From a phone, physical, and functional standpoint, it is FAR better than their other phones. From an interface and app standpoint, they haven;t really updated or changed much. The BB using the ball or curser works faster imho than this Storm with touch screen. Touch screen requires interface upgrades which were very nicely done in the iPhone. Now that the iPhone supports Exchange, I'd love to get one. BUT.. the 3G phone service SUCKS! I spend 5-7k min per month on my wireless phone. I NEED a good PHONE as well.

SO, I may switch to a BOLD or a Curve for the next few months, or I may just buck up, get a Storm, and learn what I hate about it like I did when I bought the Samsung WinMo.

Anyhow, YES, I am very familiar with the interface. It needs a curser, or I loved the little ball to navigate quickly.

Even the screen movement and click to touch feedback is nothing all that new. The new MacBooks have those same features and the trackpad depressed when you click on it (Apple removed the buttons from the track pad on newer laptops) which is very similar to the Storm.

I like the iPhones browser, main reason I got it. I don't like clicky things, seem like something to break, peel or get more food in. I have abused the iPhone, it's been sweat covered in my pocket, water and coffee spilled on it and recenty subjected to 95-100 mph windchills in my jacket pocket and keeps on ticking.
Really I have always liked the BB's so really it just comes down to the browser, I like the full-screen desk top viewing on my phone and I like the ease of use of the iPhone. Maybe i'm just used to it now. Just my opinion though.
One thing though just like the iPhone when it first came out I might be inclined to wait for the usual public trial and get the second gen.
