Damn.... His eye sockets are jacked up! Someone needs to make this a poster with the caption, "Darwin."

Hope he made it though!

The eyesockets inside don't seem damaged, luckily...I think what you may see as "jacked up" inside the eyesockets is the sinus. However there is definately a facial fracture at the eye adjacent to the temple on both sides, and the cheekbones at the front of the face are fractured and displaced and the nose is shattered. The mandibular fracture is horrific. I'm a layman, but I know a bit about head injuries because I have studied them and I have a brother who is an MD who I can consult and learn from. These injuries are extensive. Combined with the blunt force trauma that his brain had to experience, I find it amazing that he survived to have this scan.
I have sympathy for anyone involved in an accident, especially if they were totally innocent as to cause. I am also a strong ANTI helmet law person , BUT a VERY PRO helmet as an injury prevention device person.
One of the things I have learned about head injuries and helmets, helmets are no guarantee, they are not a magic pill, and you would be surprised how limited they are overall...That being said, they are designed to reduce impact injuries within their limits. That alone has me making the personal choice to wear one when I ride.
It always pains me to learn of a fellow motorcycle rider being injured. I truly hope this person recovers.

that why i always have a helmet. don't ride without a dome piece

I spent 30% of my money on fast cars, 30% on women, and 30% on booze. The other 10% I wasted.

If he smashed his face, most likely a standard helmet wouldn't have helped much. Pretty crappy, hope he's all right.

if you look, you can see all the small bone fragments everywhere in his face and skull...but the detail rendering is just insane on that thing...it is like startrek...thats just insane...hope the guy made it...but thats extensive facial injuries...MAJOR surgery is gonna have to be done...

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

I wish I had one of these to show off after the accident I had when I was a kid. Hit and run drunk driver left me for dead in the street. My face had impacted his hood (and probably other parts of the car), so my teeth were shattered, and the bone cracked from upper mandible to whatever the nose hole is called. Jaw and neck all jacked up. Not crushed like that guy in the CT scan, but my teeth and face will never be the same (asymmetrical), and not much I can do about fixing it. I already have steel pins holding it all together.

Needless to say, I don't think highly of people driving drunk.

Holeeee shit.

I remember how much it hurt when I got my wisdom teeth out- I can't imagine how much pain this guy's gonna be in when he wakes up.

When the pepper spray runs out, can I have your number?
