Sticker Day for City Dwellers

Get you City stickers and motorcycle reg. plate thingy on, it's the last day to buy them without penalty. Of course this only applies to city dwellers that are not commiting insurance fraud.

Yanno, sometimes I get nostalgic for the years I lived in Chicago. That is, until it gets to be "this" time of year!

What do you mean by this? I know someone who lives downtown but has his bike registered out in downers grove so that he doesnt need to have the city tag. Is that what you are referring to?

That's why this law sucks. I work for the city and they have me on file so I have to buy a sticker even if the bike is registered in the burbs.

But if I'm not a city employee and I'm rich enough to have indoor parking where the meter maids and inspectors can't visit then I don't need to buy a sticker if its registered in the burbs.

So essentially poor people who don't have a garage and city workers gets slammed for an extra tax.

Now the fine is double the sticker cost ($150) so I'm going on the prowl. Beware any condo people who ever park on my street more than 2 days in a row. I will be calling the 5-o and my alderman to force you to get a sticker.

Reason = the city is laying off people left and right and everyones jobs are on the line. Meanwhile I see these Yuppies parking their VW Jettas in my condo's lot without stickers.

Save a job and buy a sticker, I have to so why not you?

Why is it they charge 160 $$$ or whatever for a b-truck sticker and then not allow you to park it on the city street.

My other question is...why don't they just say "Give us $75 or whatever is or we'll suspend your lic?"

I don't buy city or state stickers and have never had a problem. Got one parking ticket...which as some of you may guess what I wiped it with and gave it right back to them. Let's see...we pay the state or city out of our taxes in our pay checks, tax season, sales tax...buy a new car and you'll pay local taxes. Then you gotta pay for a plate sticker and then for a village sticker, then for any bogus parking tickets you may get. I ain't paying for crap. Those rules and laws are shit. I say that instead of that we just pay politicians less and use that money to support the states and cities. They can all eat my delicious ass
