prez always had a good way with words.

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.

We can only be optimistic at this point as the time for pessimism is long past

I have to be hopeful that he can deliver and do what needs to be done to get this great nation of our back on track

I like what he said and think they should have ended it there - I could do without all the tailriders at this point

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

As Andrew Card (GWB's first Chief os Staff) pointed out prior to the pomp and circumstance: That was the job of campaigning.. Now comes the job of being President. They are separate.

more people talked after the prez?

well it sounded like forced voluntary work, draft, pay off the muslims.. basically the same o' same o'.

it would be nice if american prez would focus on healing america and not supporting other countries and being the world police.

let them other countries shoot each other up they have been around alot longer and if they can't play nice oh well, it's not our job to babysit them

i want to drink, but only to kill a certain few brain cells and i don't care how many i have to take out to get to them.

I think people who did not vote for him will be less disapointed then the people that did vote for him.

As stated above, he gives a good sermon. I am optimistic that with time, everything will balance it self out. I am just curious about what this service he keeps on repeating will mean for me.

i was waiting for him to finsih up by saying "Hollllaaaaaaaaa" jk

The speech was what everybody expected from him, he has a certain way of preaching while talking and you can't help but want to hear more.

He said right after the luncheon he wants to get into office and start working

I am... Hopeful.
I have my issues.. and many that know me know what they are..
but when it comes down to speaking.. I have never heard anyone speak better than that man does.

People would follow him into a burning building.. He is that good

IMHO anyway

My short list included him.. but he lost points for the good old boy southern uneducated twang he sometimes took...

at the presidential level.. I would say JFK or Obama.. and ... Maybe because its more recent and or fresh.. Obama i'd say by a narrow margin

Understood - BUT, if you talk about "speaking to the people" I think that Clinton touched more with his "twang" as you call it vs Kennedy's East Coast Blue Blood that not many can "relate" to - Just my opinion but I feel Clinton is tops in this category - Kennedy was ground breaking for sure but Billy Bob spoke to us all - I know I can relate to a good ole boy over a Silver Spoon in mouth placed in position by Daddy's money any day
