I also wonder what this will mean for the MV and Cagiva brands they recently purchased.

And wow, company shares have lost 74% of their value since September.

They also released a statement saying they are pulling out of the MotoGP season for 2009.

But seriously, sucks to hear.

Has anybody heard about the trade in deal on 06/07/08 bikes? They are offering MSRP of your bike as trade in value.

I saw a Sportster commercial...... the deal is they will give you what you paid for
it if you trade up to a big twin. There may be others as well.

The loss in stock value really sucks...but like anything else, you weather it out and it will recover... eventually. It did in '87.
The full MSRP trade value of a Sportster for a Big Twin is nothing new, they did this with the XLX several years ago to get people to buy the Big Twins after the motor company took over from AMF and went all out to improve quality.
I'll bet some good deals can be made on a V-Rod. It's been a sales disappointment since the beginning, even though it is a very good bike.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

I saw that too, Don't know how it can make sense in the books. But sounds crazy good if you're in a market for that kind of a bike.

They're saying no new MVs shipped to the US for 2009.

Maybe their tee shirts will be less than $25 a piece. I buy my brother one every year for his BD, and the prices keep going up and up. Legalize the 500cc 2 stroke Cagiva, that will save HD. Well, it will make me real happy anyways.
