Metallica last night 1/26 anyone?

Am going tonight and was wondering how last nights show was for anyone that went. Looking forward to the show tonight, haven't seen them since Justice (last good album) but I really dig the new album.

I am also going tonight. I can't wait, will prolly show up late since I have no interest in the opening bands at all.

You should check out the opening bands. The Sword is really cool, kinda a thrash band with a touch of Sabbath. You may like them.

Absolutely amazing show! Good mix of old and new stuff. Metallica was on for 2 hours! Wasnt to fond of the first opener but everything was great from there on. Id suggest bottled water as that place sold out and was extremely hot inside

HAHA I was going to wear two T-shirts and a sweatshirt so I didn't have to wear my jacket in. Scratch that idea.

Yeah I was worried I was going to have to wait an hour to walk into the place but we walked right in. Honestly it was so warm in there you could wear shorts and a tshirt.

Alex -

I would show up with plenty of time to pay, park, grab your beers and get to your seats by nine. A lot of people showed up around then.

Great show.

Alex get there before 9 and you will be good. I just looked at my phone and saw when I was talking to Marcus at the show it showed a bit before 9 and that was during the last intermission before Metallica went on

Are any of you who went yesterday or today, going to hop over to livemetallica.com and snag copies of the Chicago shows? Apparently there's a redemption code with your ticket so you can pull 'em down, and those recordings are generally pretty good.

I'd love copies if you all are willing to share! ;-)

Great time last night 1/27. They put on a killer show and played lots of old stuff and a good chunk of the new stuff too. Lots of pyro and a few close calls too it seemed. Anyone catch the roadie/security guy who almost got torched on stage? Someone threw a sweatshirt on stage and the roadie ran over to get it off stage and a flash bomb that threw a 10 ft flame went off less than 2 ft from his head when he was crawling on stage!!! Thankfully he didn't seem to get torched but he did get off that stage faster than a mofo!
Outstanding performance my Metallica. Fyi, Hammet guitar was totally out of tune when they played "one".

I enjoyed last night but it was by far not the best Metallica concert I have been to. Sound seemed off at times, James voice at times could hardly be heard, the crowd was not nearly as into it as others I have been to.

Yeah, that happened in 1991 Black Album tour when they decided to make it a circus instead of metal concert. I was a big fan until that fiasco.

Any tour/album release after 1988 is garbage IMO.

I diagree, I do not like the new stuff all that much but there are 1-2 good songs on it, that is how many they should have played. For the St Anger tour they only did 2 St Anger songs and that was plenty.

I missed.

- Battery
- Motorbreath
- Damage Inc
- Fade to Black
