Help!! My heater went out and I need someone to fix it.....

OK ya'll....I need some help..My heater went out today!!! My alarms started going off and I ran up stairs to see what it was and I smelled an electrical burn so I called the LITH FD and shut off all the electricity in the house by flipping the breaker. Well they get there and pull the front off my heater/furnance and the wires were burnt but not on fire. I was lucky my house did not burn down. Anyways, does anyone close to me fix or know someone that fixes heaters. Its a Bryant and the blower motor needs to be replaced. I think I have the right part # so if you know of anyone that can help, please let me know.

BTW...I'm not having a great week.....

Glad your smoke alarms were working and alerted you before any serious damage occurred.

Fresh batteries once a year FTW!

Sorry, but I have no experience with Bryant units. Glad you were not hurt. You ought to be able to turn off the breaker/remove the fuse for the furnace, and turn back on the house main breaker. That will allow you to use at least Space Heaters until things get fixed.

Celena,

are you able to get the part? ONly one nick found was in lanceing. Usually they are not hard to replace. Biggest thing is to get the blower motor. I also have space heat if you need ot borrow it.

If the blower motor was not running but the heat exchanger kept going (which it clearly did, superheating the unit and burning your wires) then you have some safeties or limit switches that FAILED. Make sure that everything is working properly after you replace the blower motor.

Celena let me know if you need to borrow a space heater or two. I've got a few of them and I will be willing to turn my heat on for the night and loan the space heaters out. lol. You gotta pick them up though because you live way too far.

She is actually on her way to Lowes right now to pick up space heaters. You might want to call her before she buys hers.

She got it fixed last night. Rob and Esme gave her an amazing hook up! BTW- Thanks Rob and Esme because I'm going to steal that guy next time my furnace breaks.

Her house was nice and toasty when I got there at 6 last night.
