Bunch of nonsense by people who didn't study enough history. It'll be just like Y2K.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

The only thing in history that supports this is that is when the Mayan calender stops. Considering that Mayan civilization ended and disappeared quite some time before the discovery of the New World (over 500 years ago)...just how accurate do believe them to be about anything? Could it be that they just ran out of room and figured that dates beyond 2012 could be added later?
There is a Christian prediction about the end of the world...it has no set date and centers around Christ's second coming...It also says that we should not concern ourselves with when it will happen. That we should live our lives and be productive and good and continue on as if there is no end and that the only preparation for the end is to be a believer. Personally, I'm going with that.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

If you want to anger a conservative, tell him a lie. To anger a liberal all one must do is tell the truth!

Yes, this goes to show that people are stupid.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Figured this wouldn't have been brought up at least until 2011
Mayan's calendar and Nostradamus supposedly predict this. Who gives a crap? If it's gonna happen, none of us will be able to do anything about it. Except for possibly getting ton of money from a loan shark like the guy did in Armageddon right before it

I try not to think about it... Though people talk about it constantly. There's too much negativity and depression going around. This is the cherry on top.
If it happens, it happens but hopefully not! I want my girls to get to live their lives past the age of 4 and 5!!

I didn't read that link that was posted but here's what I think. Doomsday "shmoonsday" this is some bullshit i don't give a fuck if someone thinks the world will end, i might just burn some plastic just out of spite

I spent 30% of my money on fast cars, 30% on women, and 30% on booze. The other 10% I wasted.

yeah...too bad it's friday..the 13th!

ack!

But again with what others say, If it happens, it happens. maybe by 2036 we'll have the technology, but right now not very much we can do to divert an asteroid...LOT of energy there..

so, maybe by 2029, they will have some plan of action to do something to nudge it for the next 7 years. maybe use the crazy guys idea of pretty much placing a crazy-massive (as in, mass, not just size) "bowl" of sorts with a nuke under it, detonate it to push it off course.

Read number 4 on the list, same idea http://www.cracked.com/article_16631...ally-work.html
