More credit card hacks...

... So, I just got a call from DuPage Credit Union, and they said that my card was on a list of some ridiculous number of visa credit cards/check cards that have been compromised. Forgot who the processing company was, and the exact number, but I do remember when she said that number I said "holy shit"

Anyway, food for thought, if ya get a call from a number you don't recognize and you usually ignore it, might wanna pick it up in the next couple of days

Rules around security with these processors need to be updated. I got the same call a few months ago but never asked for a new card. It was not for sure that it was compromised.

I do like the verified by Visa that many vendors are using on-line now, password required.

Sorry, thought that action was a given. Cards immediately closed, and processing new ones as we speak, should be getting them in 7 to 10 days.

I just went through unauthorized transactions on my account. Pain in the ass because if they have your account info, a new card might not be enough.

Getting a new account means getting new card + checks,...basically not having a bank for 2 weeks.

^ I try to always use a credit card rather then my bank card. For that exact reason.
