What moron teacher gave this crap assignment?

ORNITHOPTER An ornithopter (from Greek ornithos "bird" and pteron "wing") is an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings. Designers seek to imitate the flapping-wing

The only thing I can think of is ornithopter. Like the old old planes that tried to fly by having wings that flap.....Somehow doesn't seem right for 5th grade level. I'm sure there is a better word though.

I would be willing to bet that ornithopter is not in a student dictionary either, I will check tomorrow.

Any chance that the 5th grader is studying something related to this, as in, they've heard the term recently?
