Help us find parts

Resurrection needs a head for a 1984 Kaw Ninja GPZ900. This IS the Top Gun Bike. We need a complete head for the motor in good condition. Help search the net. I'm having bad luck. May be it's the Jager and Micky's. I'm guessing this part is very hard to come by.

By complete I am assuming you mean with cams, valves and valve gear or will just a head casting be sufficient?...I'll check with the ChiVinMoto group and see if anyone has one or a lead on one

Just a head casting. Thank you.

If someone has the complete head that would be nice that way we don't have to miss match parts from one head to another. See what you can find. I appreciated it.

Are you coming to the ice races at Cedar Lake Sunday? Races start at noon. I'm running 2 rounds of the road course and 2 rounds of the 1/2 mile oval. Good fan turn outs every weekend. Good food, cold beer and good racing.

Thanks, I'm seeing if he wants to just sell the spare head he has. I don't really want all that extra shit.

I put an email out on ChiVinMoto, If someone has one or a lead on one I'll PM you the info and you can contact him direct.
As for the ice races, I wish I could come out. I've been unable to get my bike ready due to a health issue that has had me down for over 2 weeks and it wouldn't matter because I couldn't ride. Right now my priority is to take care and be up for the IMS in Rosemont. I'll be displaying my Triumphs in the Chicago Norton Owners Club vintage bike display.
With a little luck I'll get a ride or 2 in at Camp Lake Wis. where they do an open ride/practice every Sunday before the ice melts.

Would be cool either way.... but to have *the* bike from the movie would be really notable / collectable.

Thanks fellas

The head we have has burnt intake seats that are to bad to fix .the result of the open mufflers and not being rejeted .I'm sure it sounded REAL good to on its way to the scrap yard .It's a shame to because the bike is in pretty good shape otherwise.

One of the ChiVinMoto guys suggested calling Precision Cycle in Sarasota Florida @ (941) 955-1355. They specialize in Kawasaki. Mostly KZ but it wouldn't be out of the question that they'd have or have a line on the Ninja head you need. The owners name is Ron, ask for him. They come highly recommended.

In 84 I bought a 83 GS1100E my buddy bought a V65 .Mine was faster ,then another buddy bought a GPZ1100 mine was faster. Not until that ZX900 ninja my buddy John bought could any bike beat the GS.

The Suzuki was faster up to 100mph but I new he was comming and after about 120 he was pulling away .The trick is picking your fights and not letting him have the long straights .He would get so damn mad that I would let off the throttle and act like the race was over .

The ZX900 was truly the first REALY fast bike .I'm honored to resurrect this old machine.

They do magnesium casting repairs, cooling fin repairs, etc, etc. I hear they pull off some exotic things, I believe they're vintage Triumph specialists.

Hay hay

Thank you old timer We may have scored on your lead complete head from a crashed bike .and the price is right at only $100. seems allmost to good to be true. We'll find out soon enough .
I'll do the air into the ports with soap and water in the valve area and look for bubbles first. The hope is the bike was crashed with a good running motor.

Thanks again.

P.S.
maybe I can offer something in return someday I have a full machine shop and will be glad to help any way I can.

My pleasure to be able to help you get a lead on what you needed. Anytime for anyone. Thanks for the offer of help in your shop, I may take you up on it sometime...never know when a part for a vintage bike needs to be fabricated!
