Thanks Eric (Lonely Raven)

I put Eric to the test a few weeks ago when I dropped off my ancient tower computer for him. I am working on a project across the pond, and needed a dedicated computer of my own. Eric tried not to be mortified when he looked at what I had before. Fast forward two weeks to today. I get a text stating my 'puter is ready for pickup. It is easy to set up and service, and works perfect. I was using a 13g harddrive before, and now have a 40g and 80g. He was also able to save what was on my 13g and load it into my current set up. The project was done on time and on budget, and I am using it for the first time now. Thank you Eric, job well done.

Bug, PM me. I'd be happy to help.

I'm taking a few side jobs here and there since my hours have been cut back at work.

Thanks for your kind words, Dave. I'm glad I could help. Just don't let any animals walk off with the WiFi antenna. LOL

Do you pull data off of working hard drives or can you recover data from hard drives which are damaged?

I can try. I have a lot of data recovery utilities I can lean against a damaged hard drive...but if you *really* need to get data off, only a proper data recovery agency can save that.

A proper data recovery agency uses a clean room, and actually removes the platters (discs inside the drive that your data is on) and installes the platters into custom built readers to recover that data.

While I've moved platters from a dead disk drive to a known good disk drive and some other more adventurous attempts at saving data...I just don't have the equipment a proper data recovery agency has.

If it's data that you'd like to try to save, but it's not worth $1000+ for an agency to recovery it...I'm happy to take a whack at it.
