What firefox add-ons you got?

finally got around (after..months??) to taking a look at some firefox applications, and found a few cool ones out there. Post up the one's you've got, and what they do! Feel free to post experiences with any, good or bad.

Right now i've got:
- Anycolor; comes with some decent presets, can put a custom image in the top and bottom bars of firefox.

- Firefox companion for ebay; It's alright, if you have a lot of stuff selling and/or watching. uses the tab to display items up for sale or that you're watching and will alert you with different preferences..I don't really like it since i don't buy/sell on ebay often.

- Fission; Puts the loading bar in the address bar safari-style, can choose the color of it. I like it so far, nice touch

- 1-Clickweather; cool add on IMO! gives you a mouse-over for radar, link to 10-day and hour by hour weather, as well as a Now tonight and next day's weather with full stats on mouse over. convenient all in one spot for weather info.

- AdBlockPlus; Like this program so far, basically takes out any advertisements from sites, works well so far for me.

- Cooliris; nothing all that useful, more of a cool factor. Able to search google, youtube, flickr, smugmug etc for pics and video and displays them on a '3d wall' that you can slide across. Makes for easy browsing of pictures, at least.

- Web of Trust; Liking this add-on as so far. Gives you a little symbol by links from google etc. with a circle ranging from red (bad site) to green (trusted) based on users ratings.

- Minimap; don't use it too much myself. nice if you feel like looking at google maps without having a seperate tab for it. Allows you to set a home location, and drag and drop addresses on it to view, and get directions to. Directions don't show up in the tab however, so to get details you have to choose the google/yahoo/windows directions rather than map in the tab.

hope some of this helps, give me some ideas to look at!

- Steve

here's some screenshots of what I made it look like now..kind of hard to vew the options tab in top, but meh, i know where everythings at.

first shot has the minimap screen open, with directions previewed in it, options for viewing type. Also gives a preview of the Fission style load progress bar on top, and the green circle on the top by website bar is WOT (web of trust)..gave CLSB a green, so now it's officially good :P

second image gives a view of ebay bar, different view options, and the radar mouseover pulled up. mouseover on the "now:" part gives temp, dew point, humidity, pressure, visibility, winds...basically all you need in 1.

if you have FF, you should definitely have noscript and flashblock and adblock plus

it'll make it the safest browser on the block by far

noscript block java virus attacks and flashblock blocks flash to keep if from building up FF's memory usage and adblock blocks ads

IE Tab another must have...for the few sites that FF won't work with or for work sites where you can't use it, it switches FF to emulate IE without having to open the real thing

tweak network speeds up your FF

download status bar is nice...shows dload progress in the bottom of the browser vs opening up another window

pagestyles2tab I use for fun and better clarity...it colors the tab the color of the website, so it's easier to differentiate between tabs

PDF download..self explanatory

tab mix plus is another must have...make duplicate tabs, organize tabs, bring back tabs you closed, and most importantly it brings back up every tab you had up to the page it was on when you closed the browser...so when you restart the next day, you're right where you left it, and don't have to re-open and set everything up again

..yeah, so I finally made a spreadsheet (huh huh...I said spread..) with all the parts i've bought on the bike so far...Definately better use it this year lol, put in half what I paid for it as of now, and once I get my tires and last few parts from chicago performance i'll be hitting the 1200 mark...that's not including getting the rim straightened, custom midpipe made, and dyno tune later..ugh

open Photoshop
file -> open
select Vader downing the Guiness image
image -> image size (ctrl+alt+I)
enter dimensions; change units to pixels

look around online for how-to's, don't go buying anything, yet

took a look at that way, noticed it just makes the whole image bigger so I loose part of the guinness or vader if I crop to 16:10..

Figured out i could open the pic at full size, and move to the right edge of screen and take a print screen..then opened in paint and used the eye dropper tool to get the green background and filled in the whole screen with it, used picasa to crap (nice and easy to use), then used irfanview to resize bigger with sharpen. phew, done! lol

now i've just got to go into paint, zoom in, and clean up the fuzzy edges from making it bigger.

edit: done! resizing it bigger made the whole green background turn splotchy (weird squares of different greens), so had to go over all of it, then zoomed in and used the spraypaint tool to clean up the edges. looks pretty sharp!

that's a whole lot easier to do in Photoshop too. Look up some how-tos, it's amazing what Photoshop can do and how quickly it can do something like you just described.

probably, just the searching for a good how-to is the hard part lol. suppose I'll start doing that while I wait for it to get sunny and warm so I can clean some parts up

I added ForecastFox; is there a way to add precipitation chance to the tool tip summaries? You can do it individually for rain/snow/thunderstorms but not just a 30% chance of rain or snow.

Don't know, there are a ton of settings. the only thing I have configured on it is my work and home locations. Its nice to be able to switch between the two quickly and know what the weather is like at home for those, "cooler by the lake" days.
