How much do you pay for tax preparation?

Went to Jackson Hewitt and paid $287 with all the fees. By far the most I have ever paid for tax preparation. What do you pay. Not too upset about mine because they itemized it for me, but my gf had a simple filing and paid$240. Don't think I'll go back next year.

$240/year due to a laundry list of carry-forwards and stock stuff that needs to be kept straight. Been the same price for the past 10 years, same place.

Everyone Exaggerates

Well last year I paid $40 for simple filing at a hole in a wall place, but this year decided to try Jackson Hewitt and itemize, so $287 total.

No, but last year simple filing was enough for me to get same amount as itemizing last year, because i was in school. But my gf did not get any more then she would at the other place but paid 6 times the fee.

I paid $150 this year but in the past I paid $125. Since I have a business it is a ton easier going to him. Plus it helps stimulate the small business world.

$16.95 I think it was but didn't itemize.

Sounds like both of you especially the gf got raped. I would of been bitching. Did you even bother to ask prices first?

Have not seen my individual bill yet, but around $250-300. I run the charges through the corp as there is a lot of crossover stuff that needs to be tracked. The corp gos through $10-15k of CPA fees a year.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

I do my own taxes and itemize. $0 from taxact.com. If I had anything really complex, I'd get them done. But if you don't itemize, or if all that you really itemize for is your home and charity stuff, it's simple. I had mine done within an hour or two.

What ever the cost of Turbo Tax is. These places just use the same type of program and ask you the questions.
