New vodka

Dan Akroyd is now peddling his own vodka. Gotta admit that I really dig the bottle but the whole diamond filtering thing makes it sound like a gimmick.

Wasn't this the premise for the latest Indian Jones movie?

diamond filtering - I didn't listen to this website's video, but the whole concept of filtering is sending liquid through porous material such as coal or sand or other things known to filter. Diamonds? not the most porous material IMHO

I could care less on how it's made or filtered. Taste is all that matters to me. If it's good. Then I will buy more. I'd it tastes bad. I will serve it to my friends and save the good stuff for myself.

I came here to drink some beer and kick some ass. And it looks like we are all out of beer.

nah, those were big elongated alien skulls. I prefer to pretend that movie never happened. This skull is more like the skull from House 2.

filters are not necessarily made of a porus material
sintered bronze is used to make filters all the time. The purpose of a filter is to trap a particle of a given size.

I hope indiana jones comes out with his own vodka too. But in an alien crystal skull.

This is going to be a long-term relationship

True Dat.

So the point being, what does a diamond filter do that any other non-porus man made filter wouldn't do? Except sound good in marketing.

its likely 99.9999% marketing but you could make it 100% reusable maybe like use a high temp furnace/oven to burn out all collected contaminants?

Back in the day, carburator inlet filters were made of sintered bronze

+100!

I was so pissed at the end of that movie. I asked for the movies for Christmas but insisted that I didn't want the last one, it almost ruined the series until I got to watch the first ones again and remembered he's a bad ass.

Nope, don't really watch Southpark - maybe one of our resident internet guru's can find it online and post it in here...
