Pay it forward / Pay it back

Long story short, I was riding home yesterday evening from Chicago on 290 West. The bike died. I fired it right back up, and is started running crappy after 5 seconds. I pulled over and stopped around Harlem. Within 5 minutes a car pulled over from the left lane, to the shoulder on the right where I was. A guy got out, he was wearing a riding vest under his jacked, and introduced himself as King, from a group I can't remember. We screwed around with the bike, and he finally asked if I was out of gas, and I was. (Bike is new to me, I learned the hard way). He was going to pick up his girlfriend and said if she had a gas tank and he saw me on the way back, he'd pull back over. A half hour later, I'm sitting there with an IDOT guy who radio'd for someone to come with gas, when King pulls back over, and gets out of his car with a gas can. We dumped a gallon in, shook the bike back and forth a little, hit the starter a few times, and then it fired right up. I got off at the next exit, topped off the tank, and was on my way. I couldn't thank King enough, he said no worries, 'it could have been me on the side of the road.'

Thank you King, I owe you a lunch and at least a few good deeds to strangers.

Very cool to hear. Bikers are most of the time there for each other and theres no better feeling then that.

It's nice to see kindness still exists.

Did my first "Wave" of the season today... man I love riding.

The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character

Bug, a few other riders and myself were up north and seen a guy over on the side. So we pulled over to make sure all was ok. Turned out he was riding, seen it was a bunch of chrome and pulled over. It was a shitload of brand new sockets and he collected them all up. LOL. He must have been like HUH a barley and the rest were sport bikes and they all pulled over. LOL.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!
