F*ck you Bank of america!

So i see a random charge in one of my accounts I hardly use. I call them and get this ignorant bitch on the phone.

Apparently when Bank of america bought Lasalle they changed every account and now forces you to keep a $750 minimum balance or else you get a $10 fee per month. The funny thing is i explained when i signed up for this account years ago there was no fee's no minimum (its my online purchasing account so i knew it wouldn't get much use). They changed the rules and basically said well tough shit, deal with it. Thats our rules.

Guess im gonna go get a chase account for that stuff.

Yeah BOA sucks ass. I recently closed all my accounts with them. They sent you a brochure through the mail letting you know of the changes and you are supposed to read the brochure front to back... or so they say.

BOA are known for their fees. That's how they make their money. I hate those fuggers and closed my account with them in less than a year after a bunch of BS charges.

Wells Fargo does the same thing, also why I quit banking with them years ago. I like the smaller regional banks that get to know you personally and you just ask and things can change. You want a line of credit? sure, how long would you like it for... that's service.

thats weird, my accout w/lasalle only required 300 minimum and I never was charged. Plus w/direct deposit I get no minimum balance. Maybe that's because it was a college account, but I'm not in college anymore and so far no bogus fees...

ok let me get this straight the charges are for bank accounts (check/save) and not the credit card right. i only heard blips of chase charging and expect the rest of them to charge

and wtf what about people that live check to check and pay their bills online

that messes up going green

i want to drink, but only to kill a certain few brain cells and i don't care how many i have to take out to get to them.

Thats why you need to go with a Credit Union.

It took me many accounts with many financial institutions to find out they are all about fees and up selling. I don't think I'll ever have a regular bank account again. Sorry your going through the same stupid ass thing as I did.

Chase FTW. I'm happy with them. Nothing bad to say. (so far).

We use BofA for our checking at work. It was LaSalle, and everything was fine then, but since BofA took over, then give us MAD problems. My boss has been trying to change for weeks now, but since our Corporate draws from the account, its a hassle.

Anyway, we don't get direct depost, and last week a guy there tried not cashing my check, said the signature was a little different then on file. Looked the same to me? The manager walks over, says it looks the same to her, the guy pointed to something on the screen, then she shrugged, and said, whatever, I can't sign my name 100% the same everytime, to which he still said he had to call the owner to verify. Not to mention since BofA took over, they charge us $6 fee to cash our checks. They ask why I don't open and account with them, and each time I give them a different reason why their bank sucks, and they just say OK, like they understand.

Then my boss goes in there to deposit a $140K annuity check (official check from a brokerage) and the guy won't take it (different guy). Says that we forged something on the account number (check looked totally fine, normal, crisp, nothing out of whack at all!). My boss who has a short fuse snapped. He may be banned from their for a while. Who knows. They don't like it when you're screaming and shoulding and MF this and MF that. So he went to another branch that deposited it no problem.

I opened an online checking out with BoA to pay my mortgage online. It was free and they even gave me $75. But then they sent me a 1099 for the $75.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

Credit Unions are great except for the lack of ATM's. I ended up paying so much in ATM fees that I had to switch my main checking account to a regular bank. I still use CU's for other accounts tho.

Yea, but you are one of those "high net worth" guys.

They LIKE you!

I'm pretty happy with Northern Trust. They do have minimum avg balance requirements to avoid fees, but pretty much everything is free - on-line bill pay, on-line banking, ATM usage, etc. When you calculate all the fees you are saving, keeping a minimum balance isn't that onerous.

Amen. I'm never gonna use a bank, EVER! Been with DuPage Credit Union for 8+ years, and I'm kicking myself for not doing it earlier.

Here, to find a fee free ATM:

TXT ATMATM (286286)
with
zipcode
OR
street address

or go here:
http://www.creditunionfacts.com/atmLocator.php

I'll bet you'll find more fee free ATM's than you thought

Not to mention, who still uses cash nowadays?
