I have Chase and Citibank. I hate Chases online environment, Citibanks is much better. Also Citibank offers better rates on savings accounts. Chase has a lot of ATM and banking locations which is a major downfall of Citi.

Chase. May not be the best but it works damn well for me. The online banking is awesome and very streamlined. You can even do all your transactions through an iphone (if you get one) with the iphone app. They have many different kinds of accounts to suit your needs and they have the most ATMs around. I've been a customer since they were First Chicago.

BoA (while it was Lasalle) and ING for me
Why not try online banking (ING)? I like it cause even my checking/savings account build interest, no fees, no nothing. Granted interest is like 1% these days but summer of 07 I was doin 5-6%, no minimum balances.

I use to, this is just convienient. Also they match your deposit for 3 months out of the year and also carry a 5% match the rest of the year. Its nice when I can use my debit card and it automatically does it. Def helps put the small change aside when you don't notice it most of the time.

I use Bank of America. No problems and when I overdrew my account, they refunded the overdraft fee after I called. Remember when First Chicago or Bank One, whatever they were at the time, caused everyone to get pissed by saying they were going to charge for teller transactions? They were only going to allow you 3 or 5 per month. To each their own I guess......

I've been using my credit union since my parents opened the account for me as a kid. Never have to deal with all the Big Bank BS I read about and when I call them they know me by name. Downside is limited fee-less cash stations but there are some in co-ops if you know how to find them. See if you have access to a CU through some means before picking some other bank that will just get sold and re-sold again.

I fucking HATE banks. Theyre evil evil institutions.

By necessity, I use a credit union. I use Consumers Credit Union....if you jump through some hoops like having direct deposit, online bank statements, and use your card at least 12 times a month you get over 5% interest in your checking accnt.

I used to have TCF cause they were open on Sundays and can be located at almost every Jewel.

You should make this a poll.

Chase.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

I'm with Credit Union One. Fees, minimums and such are reasonable. Problem is lack of ATM's so expect to pay a few dollars to take money out from affiliate atm's and difficulty when making a deposit.

+1 for national city.

I use the online banking alllll the time. I don't know much about their interest rates on savings accts since I don't have much $$ in there anyways, but their compensation for ATM fees is pretty cool if you use ATMs on a semi-regular basis.
