My Rant!!!

So this old friend texted me and we were talking and she told me she has at&t for cell and I said I just switch. She said "did you get an iPhone?" and I said yea. She said lucky asshole, and I told her I like it, but if times go hard, i can't drop the data plan. She then tells me she has the data plan also. The thing that pisses me off is SHE'S ON WELFARE!!! I get people sometimes needs a phone, but you don't need a data plan. This is also a person who always asks to barrow money. WTF!?!?! I work my ass off to have the things I have. I save and live within my means and don't take hand outs.
I think I am doing something wrong here. I am not against welfare, everyone needs a helping hand now and then. I get some women out there have a kid(s) and the father skipped town and they need some help, but to taking government money to pay for a $30.00 data plan is outrageous!!!!

Horseshit! My sister is Section 8 and I don't feel sorry for her at all. I do, however, feel sorry for her kids - they get the ass end of the deal.

EDIT: My sister does work but does not make enough to support the family she has

My mother in law is almost worse than that. The guy she's married to (not wife's father) has claimed bankruptcy before - and they just did again. They live in a crap-hole waaaay out west near Rochelle. They seriously should burn the place to the ground.

My wife's mom calls all the time and complains how lousy things are and we constantly tell her to leave his ass (since she's jobless and has no other real ties). Then my wife gets cut off by her mom - "oh I gotta go, DirecTV is here to install service"

WHAT?!?!? Are you effing kidding me???? All I can say is thank god she lives so far away that I rarely see her.

Dude, you need new friends.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

My aunt works as a nurse and she tells me how people on Medicare or w/e come to her hospital. They are driving new cars and wearing expensive jewelry. I don't have a problem with welfare but I have big problem with welfare abuse. Some people need a helping hand and the people who are abusing the system are screwing over the people who really need it.

I'm of the same cut. I wish the abusers of the system were nailed. Link Card purchases should be validated on the back-end which can be tied to the card and person and ultimately in most places, to the exact goods that were purchased. Most stores have this data set and there is a good opportunity for a third party to act as a data broker and interface with these companies to go through the purchases and yellow/red flag the purchases that should warrant followup for welfare abuse. Using that as probable cause, they should then send someone out to their place of residence for a look-see.

Her name is Amy, I doubt you'd see her though. I think she's doing some kind of cost analysis stuff for them or something these days.

She was running the gas station there for most of 07/08.

I'd never seen this before until I moved to Chicago and it seriously pisses me off more than anything. I've actually followed people in the check out line who buy heaping cartfulls of shit food, soda, whatever else with their Link card pulled out of their designer purse and wallet and load it into the back of a new Escalade. On top of this, wearing all designer clothes... Do these people have no morals?! ughh... My Friday was going good until I started thinking about this. Sorry, /rant

I live and shop near Cabrini, yeah you see this kind of stuff a lot.

Also while on a road trip through the south, I would see cargo containers with holes cut in the side and sheets for doors, but they all had a Direct TV antenna on them and a caddy parked out front.
