Dave13 went down today...

He will be fine. I just got home from the hospital. I don't have too many details. He thinks he hit a pothole. He was on 355, riding with a group. I know that he was leaving Panera. I want to thank his fellow riders that stayed with him even going as far as the hospital to make sure he was ok. The road rash was really bad, and it took a very long time to clean all the wounds. His left side is totally rashed out, both knees are banged up, and his left hand has a few small spots on it. I will post pics of his gear and the bike in the morning. I am too tired, and upset to unpack everything tonight. He is spending the night in the ICU. They had to give him a fairly large quanity of morphine, and they want to monitor his heart and oxygen levels at least over night. He was vomiting when I left. They said it was a combo of pain meds, antibiotics, and the after effects of the accident. If he can keep food down tomorrow he can come home, if not he has to have another ct scan.

I can't stress it enough, Wear your gear If not for his gear today would have had a very different outcome.

I would like to thank Moparboyy, Bug, ChiefBD, Troy and Trkyleg. Words cannot express how thankful I am that you guys were with him and stayed calm enough to help, and comfort him. Thanks again guys. ~Mandy

Heal up quick!! Big props to everyone for not leaving anyone behind and standing by a fellow rider! Bad start to the season so far.... too many people going down because of shitty roads and road conditions.

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

DAMN IT!

People, when riding in a group keep your distance behind and infront of each other so you can scan for pot holes and road debris.

Sucks to hear. I'm really happy to hear he's alive and is going to be OK. Fucking shitty way to start out the season though.

I do believe they had good spacing in the group. Dave was the only one that went down. I'm not sure why he didn't see the pothole. He was already fairly well drugged when I got to the hospital.

By the way Good Samaritan is taking awesome care of him. He hasn't been lectured about being on a bike at all. Since he was in gear, and the police said it was road conditions that caused the accident, they have really gone above and beyond in his care. They are controlling his pain, and did their best to make the rash clean out as painless as possible.

The bike seems to be ok. There is some cosmetic crap. He asked the same thing. I came home to pick up clothes for him before going to the hospital and checked it out then. I knew he was going to ask. They cut his clothing off, yes the leathers too. There is some paint damage, and a decent sized dent in the tank. Also the left turn signal is gone.

+1 plastic rash, case cover, tank broke the fall. Forks and swingarm dont have a scratch except for the axel nut.
