#1 MMA Fighter, Great Highlight Reel

For those that watch MMA you already know who it is... Fedor Emelianenko

This video goes through his entire career all the way to his most recent fight.

Sweet stuff.

That is one bad ass Russian. Looks like he didn't like the Croatian fighter very much. Pretty cool to see two Russians fight at the end. Had no idea Orlovskiy got knocked out by him.

Haha.. yea Arlovski got put to sleep.

He was 'pissed' at CroCop (the Croatian) because he KO'ed his brother.

Couture was good... but I need to stress WAS.

Fedor vs. Brock would be sweet.

or

Fedor vs. Overeem... Overeem is a bit overated but just like Brock is massive now.

Ernesto Hoost was indeed awesome to watch in his prime. If any of you guys are into K1, look up Peter Aerts, Ray Sefo and Badr Hari. If you want to see some super technical shit check out K1 Max fighters like Buakaw Pro Pramuk, Mike Zambidis and Masato. Those guys are fucking incredible.

I take it you like K1.
Masato is pretty good but overrated compared to Buakaw. He is a badass.

Zambidis is amazing too... I just think he's too short for his own good. If he was taller and had the same speed and power I think he'd be a champ by now.

Badr Hari is good, but got knocked out by Overeem pretty recently. Looks kind of bad because Overeem isn't even a dedicated striker.

let me start off by saying I hate the word "overrated". Masato sure as hell wasn't overrated when he picked apart Buakaw at the GP in 07. Yeah and if Zambidis had tits, he'd be a girl. oh well. And as far as Overeem, he is indeed a dedicated striker. You do know that he fought in K1 before he fought MMA right? He only trains with the top muay thai gym in holland and as you mma fans like to say Badr Hari got caught.

Hmmm I must've mixed up Masato vs. Buakaw fight... guess I only saw the 2004 fight.

I'm not downplaying Zambidis skill I'm just saying his height is a big disadvantage for him... jeesus.

As 'MMA fans'? I don't know if you're trying to be condescending but MMA is as close to a real fight as it gets.

You can have all the striking in the world but when you get tied up and get to the ground all those years of training are worth nothing.

Not trying to say K1>>MMA but you were being a smartass.

BTW he was far from 'getting caught'... he was picking him apart for free and was out after a 2nd knockdown But let me just say I was shocked to see Overeem win.

Awww fuck yeah that's what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm a little biased, but K-1 > UFC any fucking day. But Muay Thai > K-1 > UFC all day every day.

Buakaw is the shit. I'm a huge fucking fan of him. Masato is NOT overrated however Buakaw did smoke the shit out of him back in 2004 when he first burst onto the K-1 scene and won the title. They keep modifying the K-1 rules to favor the Japanese fighters. If this was full blown Muay Thai rules, elbows, full clinch and all, then the Muay Thai fighters would dominate, especially the ones from Thailand. But as I said, K-1 keeps changing the rules so that if favors the Jap fighters so there is a modified clinch. It is basically broken up before they can even start doing some real damage. The reason for this is so that it keeps the fights fast paced, i.e full of punches thus favoring "kickboxers", and Shootoboxers rather than the clinch, elbow, knee style of Muay Thai fighters from Thailand. The Dutch style of Muay Thai incorporates a lot of western boxing and not a whole lot of clinching so it works well in K-1.

As for Buakaw, the clinch is how he dominates along with his kicks since in Thailand in full MT rules, punches are scored the lowest while kicks are scored the highest. So in 2007, Buakaw lost to Masato because they took away his clinch and he wasn't much of a "boxer" even though he incorporated that into his repertoir recently. But it still sucks. MT fighters from Thailand have shitty boxing with the exception of Anuwat and Samart Payakaroon. Right now what people in the MT world want is to have Yodsenklai in K-1. Then to have him and Buakaw in the finals. That would be the dream match.

I mean you obviously have something against MMA posting 3 vids of K1 highlights in a thread about MMA.

I wasn't even overly critical merely pointing out a weakness I saw in a fighter and it's taken as... "OH he's a fucking girl is what you're saying". Does it have to be either extreme?

I haven't. It sucks cuz the only time I get to watch any K-1 fights is on YouTube. He did get is ass knocked out by Sato though. Payback for Buakaw knocking out Sato a few years ago.

Whatever... no need to argue with someone too jaded and close minded. I mean you obviously have something against MMA posting 3 vids of K1 highlights in a thread about MMA.

I don't know what street fights you've seen but I've never seen such a technical street fight in my life. It usually ends with a dude laying on the ground getting kicked by multiple people. You can't tap in a real fight. You might even get a bottle broken over your head. When I see a street fight that ends with a fucking kimura, I'll see your side of the view.

I also love MMA. Nothing against it.

what the hell are you talking about? You said if Zambidis was taller he'd be champ, and I said yeah and if he had tits, he'd be a girl. My point is that Zambidis is a bad dude irregardless of his lack of height.

Nothing wrong with MMA but like I said, I'm biased. MMA is light years away from Boxing and K-1 when it comes to the stand up game. Its excruciating to watch wrestlers box in MMA. I can't even remember the last time I watched a UFC fight. But MMA is a young sport and it is going to evolve.
